The concept for Shelter’s cocktail menu is to match cocktail ingredients that share similar aromatics, and WOW did the pairings ever surprise and delight. This is the strawberry mushroom riff on a Negroni, and it’s gorgeous. Sage and mushroom add a wonderful earthiness to the drink, giving depth to the strawberry brightness. Canada's 100 Best Restaurants led me to this piece of heaven, and I’m so glad I did my homework. Thank you for an evening of cocktail excellence Shelter Cocktail Bar

I had a fabulous time in a state of flow, doing a guided painting of flowers with and you can too! The One of a Kind Show has a whole creative space devoted to classes, and there are lots of new vendors to check out Today until Sunday. Thanks for the creative spark, Annie!

What a joy it is to live in the city of and to enjoy their guest bar tenders from around the world. Tonight it was Brendan Hayley and Davey Taylor from Dublin’s and they brought the poitin! I savoured every sip. Thank you for the invite and cheers to taste adventures. This is Woven Stone, and sometimes I fall in love with a cocktail on the basis of the name alone. 📚 🥃

Happy 50th anniversary ! 🥂 As ever, there are so many great finds for the cocktail lover. Cocktail gummies from .cocktails in all your favourite cocktail flavours. Foraged botanical tonic from for a twist on a G&T. And fabulous flavours of kombucha from for non-alcoholic festive fizziness. So much to toast. The One of a Kind runs until Sunday, December 7. Cheers to all the small Canadian businesses helping to make us merry. 🎄

Eataly has opened at the Eaton Centre, which makes it the perfect stop as you do your holiday shopping. ✔️Fresh bergamot for making cocktails at home ✔️ rare finds and non-alcoholic options for inclusive home entertaining (I made that hole in the Amaro Nonino Botanical shelf!) ✔️Pistachio butter for making pistachio espresso martinis (yes, you read that right, and, yes, they taste as good as they sound !), ✔️hostess gifts ✔️AND a very delicious treat for you at the bar when you’re done. Congratulations on your newest addition.

The Italian Cocktail Revolution is here, and we are ready for it! 🇮🇹 Today was the launch of a week-long celebration of Italian spirits and mixology in Toronto. Alongside representatives from 10 brands from craft producers from across Italy, James Grant, head of the beverage programme at Fairmont Royal York, led a tasting of Italian spirits, vermouths, and amari. Ten Toronto bars will feature cocktails made with these fabulous ingredients. Each of the ten participating bars has teamed up with a featured Italian spirit to create exclusive cocktails available only during Italian Cocktail Revolution. If you’re out apple picking this weekend, make sure to pick up some local ciders. I’ve got some fabulous fall recipes coming, inspired by our visit to the wonderful in Goderich. Our visit there just said hospitality and abundance and welcome at every turn. This is their cider with peanut butter whisky, and I’m here to tell you, it’s divine! Cheers to the gorgeous fall weather and the bounty of the harvest!

Are you and your family looking for ways to help out in your community? Seeds of Hope is looking for cooks and drivers to help with their Chili Project. You make a big batch of chili at home, drop it off at a neighbourhood spot, and drivers collect and deliver the food to help feed our neighbours experiencing homelessness. It’s a great way for high schoolers to earn volunteer hours and to learn to make a hearty meal! Make a giant batch, feed your family, freeze the leftovers. Easy!
