As the president escalates his authoritarian power grab, the NO KINGS non-violent movement continues to rise stronger. We are united once again to remind the world: America has No Kings and the power belongs to the people.

It’s been 20 years since I first played the Schumann Fantasy. Then and now, it is one of the most important pieces in my life — perhaps the only one that can bring me to tears even while playing.

I’ll be playing it, alongside works of Mozart and Janáçek, in Ridgewood, NJ this Sunday, and then again at London’s Wigmore Hall later in the month. Links in my bio.

🎂 Happy 100th (!!!!!) birthday to György Kurtág. I have tried often to express in words what he has meant to me. He taught me that you should never make a sound without meaning behind it; that it takes a lifetime to begin to understand the greatest music; that making music is an act of love. He and his music are a constant source of inspiration. I’m so grateful he was born.
