𝗡𝗮𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹 has been a dancer with the ESMERALDA ENRIQUE SPANISH DANCE COMPANY for over 30 years now. While she has continued to enjoy the challenge and demanding excellence that is the company’s trademark, Nancy considers this ensemble of gifted dancers and inspiring women who danced together from the mid 1990s to the early 2000s, as definitely the “OG” in terms of the company’s rich history. Missing in this reunion are two deeply beloved company members who formed part of that sisterhood – Anita La Selva and Ilse Gudino.

𝐑𝐨𝐬𝐚𝐬 𝐲 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐬 - 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝐓𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐚𝐨 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔is luxuriously featuring five dancers, and I am thrilled to introduce 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗧𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗼❣️

𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗧𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗼 was born in Toronto and discovered her love of dance when she attended her first Nutcracker ballet. From that moment on, she knew she wanted to be a dancer.
She studied ballet and jazz throughout her youth and performed in choreographic workshops, CFL games, industrial shows, college talent shows, and local productions in both Toronto and Chicago. She also had the opportunity to teach jazz dance in both cities.
𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗲's discovery of flamenco came later in her dance journey. Although she had taken a few classes over the years, her true involvement began when she started studying with Esmeralda Enrique. That experience led to a sabbatical year in Madrid, where she immersed herself in flamenco training. Upon returning, Christine joined ESMERALDA ENRIQUE SPANISH DANCE COMPANY and was fortunate to perform on some of Toronto’s finest stages for more than seven years.
Life has a way of surprising us. More than a quarter century later, Christine is honored to be back on stage with some of her dearest dance friends. The camaraderie, support, and joy of dancing together remain as strong as ever.

Another beautiful dancer💃, 𝗖𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗮 𝗙𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗮𝘆, for 𝐑𝐨𝐬𝐚𝐬 𝐲 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐬 - 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝐓𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐚𝐨 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔❣️

𝗖𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗮 𝗙𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗮𝘆 is a Toronto based dance professional and academic interested in culture specific dance forms. She began her dance training as a child with Esmeralda Enrique at the Academy of Spanish Dance. Her professional dance experience, although varied, has long been focused on Flamenco and Classical Spanish dance.
During intensive study in Spain, she was awarded a diploma in Escuela Bolera from Master Eloy Pericet, one of the few people remaining in the world specializing in this eighteenth century Spanish court dance.
She was a member of the ESMERALDA ENRIQUE SPANISH DANCE COMPANY from 1995 to 2005 where she was fortunate to perform alongside the wonderful performers on stage today and acclaimed performers from abroad.
Her interest “beyond the steps” prompted the pursuit of a BFA and an MA in Dance Studies at York University, an MA from the Drama Centre at the University of Toronto, Certification in Movement Analysis from the Laban Institute for Movement Studies and is presently pursuing a PhD in Dance Studies at York University. Her latest research interests lie in the intersection between cultural policy and dance forms outside of the ballet and modern dance traditions in Toronto, Canada.
𝗖𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗮 is grateful for the opportunity to perform once again with the artists who have had the greatest influence on her formative dance years…her “flamenco family”.

𝗠𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 has been a performer on stage and screen from an early age and developed a love for flamenco dance more than 30 years ago. She began her training with Esmeralda Enrique at the Academy of Spanish Dance in Toronto and continued her studies with renowned flamenco artists through workshops in Canada and Spain. In 1996, she joined the ESMERALDA ENRIQUE SPANISH DANCE COMPANY, performing with the company until 2001.
After years of travel, raising a family and building a career in education, 𝗠𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 is delighted to return to her flamenco roots. Reuniting with many of the artists with whom she performed earlier in her career has been both meaningful and inspiring, and she considers it a privilege to share the stage once again with these talented performers while celebrating the enduring friendships forged through a shared love of flamenco.
