Tablao, which literally means 'floorboard' in Spanish is a place where flamenco shows are performed. TABLAO FLAMENCO TORONTO is non-profit and organized by Kiyo Asaoka (https://www.facebook.com/kiyo.asaoka). It presents passionate flamenco shows monthly, not only with local artists but also with the ones from outside of Toronto to showcase their art at a very casual setting with food and drinks. S

ometimes it's traditional and sometimes it's modern. Sometimes it's puro and sometimes it's fusion. TABLAO FLAMENCO TORONTO's goal is to encourage a larger Toronto flamenco community and to introduce the wonderful art form to everyone of all ages in Toronto. We perform at festivals and social/corporate events, and also teach as well.

๐——๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ป๐—ถ๐˜€ ๐——๐˜‚๐—ณ๐—ณ๐—ถ๐—ป is a Toronto-born flamenco guitarist based in Seville, Spain. Raised in a family immersed in Flamenco, he began performing at a young age and has since toured internationally across Europe and the Americas.
Alongside his work in traditional Flamenco, Dennis performs Arabic, Sephardic, and Mediterranean music with groups including Tamar Ilana & Ventanas Music, YaLeili, and Ebla, blending Flamenco with Middle Eastern and Balkan influences.
He has appeared on numerous recordings, including his solo album Camino Flamenco (2017), and regularly performs in the Tablao scene in Seville. ๐——๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ป๐—ถ๐˜€ studied at the Fundaciรณn Flamenco Cristina Heeren and holds a Ph.D. in astrophysics from McMaster University.
