Nawa Choir was established in Toronto nearly three years ago. Since the beginning our primary goal has been to create a creative space that reflects who we are and brings us together. The choir is a home for all Arabic-speaking women and gender-diverse community members, regardless of age or musical background.
We are a group of volunteers from various Arabic-speaking countries who believe that music as an art should be accessible to everyone. Therefore, joining us does not require prior experience or auditions. All we look for is your passion and love for music.
We meet every Friday at 6:00 PM to sing together. Whether you are looking to express yourself or wish to reconnect with the melodies and heritage of our homelands, your place in “Nawa” is always reserved!
تأسس كورال نوا في مدينة تورنتو منذ نحو ثلاث سنوات، ومنذ انطلاقتنا، كان هدفنا الأساسي إيجاد مساحة إبداعية تشبهنا وتجمعنا. يُعد الكورال ملاذاً فنياً لجميع النساء وأفراد المجتمع المتنوع جندرياً من الناطقين بالعربية، بغض النظر عن الفئة العمرية أو الخلفية الموسيقية.
نحن مجموعة من المتطوعين والمتطوعات من مختلف البلدان الناطقة باللغة العربية، نؤمن بأن الغناء والموسيقى حق إنساني للجميع؛ لذا فإن الانضمام إلينا لا يتطلب خبرة سابقة أو خوض اختبارات أداء (Audition). كل ما ننشده هو شغفكم وحبكم للموسيقى.
نلتقي كل يوم جمعة في تمام الساعة السادسة مساءً لنغني معاً. سواء كنتِ تسعين للتعبير عن نفسكِ أو تودين استعادة صلتكِ بألحان وتراث بلادنا، فإن مكانكِ في “نوا” محفوظ دائماً!
