🎬 Introducing our new weekly series: Seen on Screen!

Every week, we'll uncover the iconic furniture and décor featured in our favorite films and TV shows.

First up: the Morning Glory floor lamp by Ayala Serfaty. Handcrafted in Israel from hand-dyed wild silk and stainless steel, it's spotted in the pilot episode of S*x and the City inside the apartment of Charlotte's bachelor date (yes... the one who later ends up with Samantha 👀).

What film or TV series should we feature next?

Obsessed with this vintage piece by Maitland-Smith. It already found a new home in Belgium, but I realized I never shared it. 📚

They look like vintage books, but they’re actually a hidden storage box, handcrafted using Maitland-Smith’s signature tessellated technique with real alabaster, marble, fossil coral, and brass.

Fun fact: before founding Maitland-Smith, Paul Maitland-Smith was an antique dealer in London, and that love for beautiful objects shows in every piece.

It definitely deserved a spot on the feed first.

A Murano pair by Vistosi from 1970s Italy ✨

This rare pair of Murano “Ghost” lamps feels almost alive — soft, fluid silhouettes shaped entirely by hand in luminous opaline glass. Their organic curves shift beautifully between light and shadow, creating that dreamy, diffused glow Murano is known for.

There’s something quietly surreal about them… minimal yet expressive, like a frozen movement in glass. Styled together, they create a perfect sense of balance — sculptural, warm, and effortlessly refined.

One of those pieces that doesn’t just light a room — it transforms it.

Available on our 1stDibs storefront, and coming soon to our website ✨

Your new favourite reading chair ☕️
1970s chocolate brown corduroy lounge chair with chrome frame and casters — originally purchased in England and brought to Canada by its first owner (you’d be the second!). Super comfy, reversible cushion, no rust on the chrome, just light vintage wear.

This one didn’t even make it to the shelf 😭
Sold before we could properly enjoy it lol.

This sculptural vase is by Carrol Boyes, a South African artist known for turning everyday objects into functional sculptures. Her work often plays with the human body, movement, and balance — which is why this piece feels more like a small sculpture than “just” a vase.

Cast in aluminum and designed around the late 90s–early 2000s, this is one of her iconic figural designs, where the figure becomes part of the structure itself. You can actually see her signature stamped on the foot.

We love pieces like this because they sit right between art and design — made to be used, but strong enough to stand on their own.

Gone, but a really good one 🖤

Some of our favorite 2025 finds ✨
A little recap of pieces that passed through La Selva Vintage this year — all sold, but they absolutely deserved a space on the grid 🤍

I’m still obsessed with that vintage Kromex café–tea lamp, originally given out only as a promotional ad back in the day (how cool is that?).
The man sculpture vase lives rent-free in my mind, and the pink marble box… just perfection.
And of course, I can’t forget the French bathroom set, brand new in its box from the 1980s — one of those once-in-a-lifetime finds.

Which one is your favorite? 👀

Mid-century Raak Amsterdam table lamp ✨
Handblown glass with a soft white-to-clear ombré fade, paired with its original brass-tone metal base and original Raak sticker. Recently adapted into a table lamp and professionally wired for North American use, this sculptural 1970s piece is perfect for a nightstand or shelf, casting a warm, atmospheric glow.

A true icon of Dutch mid-century modern lighting.
