Jenna's Wheelhouse

Jenna's Wheelhouse Wheel thrown & hand built functional stoneware pottery. I have a deep love of clay! Some of my work uses hand building (though my true love is the wheel).

Crafted with care by clay hands. šŸ«±šŸŗšŸ«²

My pieces are made using a wheel that gets its power from the sun, and trimmed on a wheel powered by

my kicking foot. Once the pots are dried they’re brought to a nearby old mill for grid-electric kiln firing. I find inspiration in gardens, forest, local hills and the joy of creating. I try to bring care & beauty to every piece and hope this is felt when folks hold my pots in their own hands. Nothing tickles me more than thinking of my work becoming a part of someone else’s everyday ritual.

Took a break from clay for a beat, to form a different kind of vessel!
This foraged fibre basket workshop with Ralph Simpson was so interesting, fun, relaxing, & empowering 🧔
And now I have my own sweet little basket to store odds and ends (or as Ralph suggested, wishes & dreams!)

Annual Rakufest #3 brought the rain, shine, joy, smoke, flames, wonder, awe and so many great vibes my cheeks hurt.

Tim (ā€œthe Fundy wizardā€) Isaac Tim Isaac held it all down with his signature gentle grace and saw that every single piece turned into a stunner!
Behind the scenes Jennifer Stead & Jeremy at The Andrew & Laura McCain Art Gallery (ALMAG) made (this largest gathering yet) happen smoothly. Sweet neighbours came to the rescue with rain canopies KAN: Knowlesville Art & Nature School, Radicle Root Herbs plus gifted strawbales from Johan van der Brug! And busy bee J.L. Whelpdale prepped all week then made sure everyone stayed cared for (& caffeinated).

Now we have all these cool pieces to enjoy! (More photos to come)

šŸŽ¶ Community Gathering: An Evening with Isaac & Blewett šŸŽ¶

Join us on June 12 at 7:00 PM at the Knowlesville Art & Nature Centre for a special evening of music, storytelling, and connection.

For more than 30 years, Isaac & Blewett have been creating music inspired by life along New Brunswick’s Fundy coast—beautiful, rugged, heartfelt, and unexpectedly psychedelic. Blending cello, guitar, loops, and stories from rural living, their performances are both grounding and uplifting.

This beloved duo has played at the Centre many times over the years, and we’re delighted to welcome them back.

✨ Kids attend free
✨ Suggested adult donation: $10

Bring a friend, gather with neighbours, and enjoy an evening that celebrates local culture, creativity, and community.

At my Edmundston residency I was exploring environmental questions, like how we hold the tensions of benefitting from industrial modernity while practicing conservation.

I had a lot of time to think about this, as it turns out sculpting your hands takes FOREVER.

I learned that Edmundston’s pulp mill supplies for everyday products like food packaging.
And on one of my hikes around the city I found this sweet little fir baby.

With a real sponge no less…

(Also a nice way to celebrate the silver snooted fellow turning 10). Happy Birthday Bongo!

The freshly made version of my residency coil built vase. The body was built at Centre des arts d'Edmundston (then oh-so gingerly driven back) for the Madawaska & Wolastoq/Saint John rivers to be carved & formed at The Andrew & Laura McCain Art Gallery (ALMAG)ā€˜s River Art Centre.
(And didya know- where they meet is Edmundston!)
