I’ve been pretty quiet on here for a while - I’ve been working on what’s probably been my most important project ever.

This is Archibald Yitz Bradshaw Caplansky, born March 18, 2022.

He is and my greatest joy and the culmination of many years of struggle and loss. He is a ball of light and hope in our world.

This little pomegranate covers a major hole that I actually patched with a scrap of fabric first. I think I probably overworked this little guy a bit as I couldn’t really remember what a cut pomegranate looked like. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I had wanted to do French knots for the seeds but working blindly on the back made it cumbersome. These little guys turned out looking like trees (but if you turn the image updated down you may notice that my original inspiration was a pear). I like the acid green on yellow that is going on - made by mixing two similar colours of floss. Another flower mend this time on a much smaller hole. I like how round the leaves turned out. .... and see all those marks off to the side? That’s my frixon pen. The most wonderful invention that allows me to circle all the little holes I find and also sketch out what I think I might want to embroider. It’s heat sensitive so after I’m all done I just need to iron (or hit it with the blow dryer) and the marks go away!!! Starting a little project ahead of its sure to continue through the month so I feel like getting the pattern set now is the proper thing to do. I’m using curtain fabric that was wrapping a tv or lamp or vase ages ago. Whoever gifted it to me- thank you... I cherish it.
