I have seen someone say family member ama rafiki yake alienda abroad akawablock....kujeni ni nyinyi nataka kuongelesha.

You see, the first year of arriving in Canada is not easy. I am mentioning Canada because thats where I am. It might be same or different to other countries. I normally say, mtu akifika abroad na akose kurudi home mwaka ya kwanza...huyu amemake it. Because the first year is always a period of wide awakening 😫. The struggle is real🤣

Yaani I remember when I got here I did not even like it. I wanted to go back home but nilikuwa nimeshahama then nikikumbuka watu walinipeleka airport natulia tu😄. That is a period where people are struggling with no job, no money, housing, friends, winter and expenses back to back.
You're still thinking in Kenyan shillings while paying bills in dollars. Shopping ya CAD 100 unaona ni almost KSh10,000. Unachizi tu! 😂. Na saa hizo umenunua vitu tatu. Halafu hata gari huna. Unatembea kila mahali k**a mfugo🚶‍♀️.
You watch your one million Kenya shillings disappear in just a few months. Then, during that time, message inaingia, "Nisave na 20k," ama, "Nitumie invitation." Wewe mwenyewe hata nyumba huna 🤣. Unajikuta umezima simu ama uneblock mtu. No one understands why you dont money na uko majuu.

It starts getting better after an year when you find a rhythm, settle down and start earning in dollars. And thats where life starts getting better. So if you can just be patient, be patient with a friend or relative who has just moved abroad, infact, check on them daily and ask them if they are okay. That person, will remember you when things start falling into place.

Hii nayo ni njia straight forward ya kuja Canada. Unahitaji passport tu. Hawaitishi bank statement kutoka kwako. Ule anakusponsor ndiye anaitishwa. Lakini sasa kazi utafanya ni kupata huyo mtu🤣..

Mtu k**a ni Canadian citizen ama permanent resident anaeza sponsor spouse wake for permanent residence. Lazima mkue married partners, common-law partner (hata k**a hamjaoana, mkuwe mmekaa pamoja more than 1 year kwa nyumba moja) na sometimes a conjugal partner. Conjugal partner ni watu wenye wanapendana na wanaishi k**a watu wameonana. But cant legally marry sababu kuna restrictions. For example vile Kenya watu wa 🏳️‍🌈 hawaezi oana hata k**a wanapendana sababu ni illegal.

Documents zinahitajika ndio uapply permanent residence ni marriage certificate, proof that relationship is genuine, k**a photos together, chats/call logs, travel/visit history k**a amekutembelea, bank statement and ID and civil docs kutoka kwa mwenye anakusponsor.

Process ni simple but mjue wanaangalia k**a relationship ni real and genuine. So lazima uprove beyond doubt that relationship is real. Na k**a umemvisit huku Canada then uapply kuwa sponsored wanaweza kuja imprompto visit kuona k**a mnalalanga pamoja. Na watakuja 5 am asubuhi ujue🤣.

Someone asked me, watoto huenda shule kukisnow? Do schools close?" 😄. Unajua sisi back home tunabelieve k**a kuna baridi mtoto anakaa nyumbani. I also thought people dont work the whole winter but stay indoors keeping warm infront of the fire place until summer. Weh...life goes on like nothing is happen. Unadrive kukiwa na snow storm sababu kazi nayo lazima ufanye.

So the answer is simple: Shule lazima waende! 😂. Winter here is not treated like an emergency. It's just another season. Life continues.

Kids wake up early, wear snow suits, gloves, scarves, boots, and hats. Then they wait for the school bus in the cold. Some mornings it's freezing, but the buses still come, roads are cleared of snow, and classes go on as usual. The only time schools may close is during severe snowstorms or dangerous weather. Otherwise, whether it's snowing or not, shule lazima.

Kuna mtu hapa aliniambia nilikuwa nasimp vibaya😫. Hata sikatai. But si mnajua mapenzi ni uchawi jameni.

When I finished University and I could not get a job, so I opened a small shop. Nilikuwa nauza makaa, blended juice, fruits, sigara, credit cards....anything that could give me money. I am a believer of doing what you can to survive. My hands were cracked bwana sababu ya kuchota makaa. But I was still in love and pursuing being a wife😃. Nitakurogwo🙄

Sasa, I used to buy him airtime almost every day to call me. Na si kutuma tu... immediately after sending, ningempigia kuuliza, "Umeipata?" 🤣. But immediately nikituma nipige, napata call busy. On top of that, I was paying his house rent because he was busy pursuing his career for our future. Pumbavu zangu😃
Then I gave birth, money became tight because I was still struggling and still paying my rent and I couldn't continue paying his rent. Within no time, alishakuwa na mtu mwingine. When I asked him why, he told me "Sasa uliacha kulipa nyumba... ningefanya?" 😭🤣

Na mnajua the embarrassing part?
Instead of blocking him, mimi bado nilimwambia, "Ujue nakupenda bado." 🤦🏽‍♀️😂
Tulikuwa tumerudiana so many times hadi sikuwa naona maisha bila yeye jameni.
Shetani amenifanyia madharau hii lifetime 🤣
