ELLIOT CLAN GOLF DAY 2019 - September 15th 2019

The Clan golf day was played on a great course and with great weather for the participants. Calvin Shmidt was the winner of "the longest drive" and Julian Shmidt was the winner of "closest to the pin". After 10 years of orginizing the golf day, Jeff Elliott was the winner of the " Mulligan" (low score). A great meal was the ending to a perfect day of golf.

ELLIOT CLAN 2019 AGM

Today was our Annual General Meeting and Potluck Luncheon along with our guest speaker, St. Thomas City Councilor Mr. Steve Peters, who also is local historian on Jumbo The Elephant who was unfortunately killed in St.Thomas Ontario, Canada in 1885 following a Circus performance. Mr. Peters provided us with alot of information on how Jumbo started out on his path to fame, from Africa, his place of birth to the London Zoo, England ... leading to his purchase by the famous P.T. Barnum. Jumbo was transported to North America and live his life in the Circus until his unfortunate death in St.Thomas Ont. Thank you Steve for the interesting back story it was very enlightening.
Sally Hemming has announced that she has stepped down as the Elliot Clan Ontario West Chapter's Secretary & Treasurer. Thank you very much Sally for your years of service and dedication to the chapter. Shauna Elliott has volunteered to assume the duties of Secretary and Jeff Elliott has moved from Membership to Tresurer of our Clan Chapter.
This is our final chapter meeting for 2019 and the Executive Board wish to thank all the membership for making 2019 such a great year and look forward to meeting as many as possible in 2020. If you live in Southwestern Ontario and are or were born with the Elliot name or surnames under" Clan Elliot" , single and family memberships are always welcome. I would like to thank everyone who attended this years AGM Luncheon and would also like to thank especially, Mr. Randy Warden from the Vimy Branch for sharing his knowledge on how Legions help our veterans in our community. Also I would like to thank everyone for helping to raise $87.00 in our raffle. This now ends our 2018 gatherings and I look forward to seeing everyone in 2019. Take care one and all

The Elliot Clan Summer gathering was a great success, from the very warm summer day to the very delicious buffet that was provided by County View Golf and Country Club. The auction after the dinner raised $73.00 for our chapters future events. Thank you to all for making our event a success. Cheers
