I'm very excited to announce that Cedric Newman is coming to Sussex, NB for a one night only at The Mule Bar & Grill!!

Cedric is a Canadian comedy legend. He's toured all across Canada and has appeared, along with his son, on Season 8 of Amazing Race Canada.

Joining him onstage will be Saint John's Michelle Lynn Petite and Sussex's own Darren Elmore.

It all goes down on September 19th so get your tickets and put your laughing boots on because this is going to be a barn burner!!

Had a great show at The Mule Bar & Grill last night!! Many thanks to everyone who came out to have a laugh and especially to Neal Mundle Liam Patrick McNamara Debra Steeves and Katelin Dean for slaying as well.

And definitely big thanks to everyone at The Mule Bar & Grill for being a great host to the show. I hope we can do it again and keep bringing great comedy to Sussex!

Many of you may have seen my post from last week about my plans to record a stand up comedy album/special but I thought I’d share a little today about why I’m asking for your assistance.

I’ve been doing comedy since 2007 and I have a lot of material built up over that time that I’m very proud of and I want to put it to work for me.

2 years ago I organized a couple of shows at my dream venue in Saint John and got a great videographer to film them to release as a special. Unfortunately I was so laser focused on getting butts in the seats and designing the look of the show that I didn’t notice that, after I had already started selling tickets, nationally touring pro Jeremy Hotz announced a show at the Imperial Theatre for the same night and my opening act (on whom I was counting to sell tickets because he was a much bigger name than mine) also organized a show at the same venue for the weekend before.

Ultimately as I struggled to get tickets sold, I lost focus on my material so when it came to the night of, the attendance was so poor and I was so stressed that I ended up bombing both shows and forgetting large chunks of my set. It was an explosion of worst case scenarios and the footage was unusable.

But I still have a lot of faith in my abilities and in my set. I ended up, that same year, recording a short set for a Just For Laughs album, which was very well received. So I know I can do it.

So I’ve learned an important lesson. I can’t do it all by myself. I need to find the right people to help me out so I can focus on the one thing that is most important…what I do on stage.

That takes money and resources that I don’t have at my disposal in abundance, which is where you come in. Any assistance you can offer is greatly greatly massively appreciated …even if it’s just pointing me in the direction of the right people.
