We’re seeking proposals for small-scale, light-based installations to be showcased indoors as part of the festival experience, with a focus on pieces that offer moments of discovery, play, and storytelling.

✨CALLING ALL CANADIAN ARTISTS✨

There’s still time to submit a proposal for your interactive light art to be featured THIS YEAR at Lights On Stratford, as part of our 2026/27 theme CANADA: NORTHERN LIGHTS🇨🇦

If you’re a Canadian or Canada-based artist interested in having your work displayed at an international light art festival, consider submitting a proposal before the deadline of May 29, 2026, at 5pm.

Proposals should be for large-scale, light-based designs that prioritize interactivity and storytelling and are winter-weather-resistant.

Selected light art installations will be displayed at the main festival locations of Market Square and Tom Patterson Island.

Lights On Stratford and Destination Stratford are grateful for the funding announced by MPP Matthew Rae, Stan Cho, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Gaming, and the Government of Ontario through the 2026 Experience Ontario Program.

Through the program, Lights On Stratford will receive funding in support of the 2026/27 festival theme, Canada: Northern Lights. This funding will directly support the delivery of our 7th annual winter lights festival, which serves as an anchor point for the winter visitor economy, while celebrating Canadian artists and storytellers during a pivotal moment in the country’s history.
