Elevator Pitch is coming in hot to the St. John's theatre scene with this seriously funny play with a prevalent ethical debate at its heart that is frighteningly prevalent in this age of "fake news".

JOHN WILLIAMS, Director

John Williams is a versatile, dynamic entertainer and serial Wikipedia donor who is thrilled to be making his directorial debut with Lifespan of a Fact. He is a veteran of the local musical theatre scene as an actor, writer, instrumentalist and A/V technician. Recent acting credits include “Cabaret”, “Jersey Boys”, “Kinky Boots” (TaDa Events), and “Second Shot” (Best Kind Productions).

John's contentious relationship with facts started as a child when he would compare the entries on a given topic in the various sets encyclopediæ in his father's library and fuss over the small differences between them.

A graduate of Memorial University School of Music (bass trombone), he works as a teacher, military musician, and videographer.

SANDRA MILLS, Stage Manager

Sandra Mills is a theatrical multi-hyphenate living in St. John's, excited to be a part of this new venture called Elevator Pitch and its first production, "The Lifespan of a Fact". Previous stage management credits include "Spooky Christmas Town", "A Very Nick Mandville Christmas", and "Heathers: The Musical" (Best Kind Productions), "Best Brothers" (Playgroup Theatre), and multiple original works for St. John's Shorts. Additional crew credits include lighting and projections designer for "War of the Worlds: The Panic Broadcast" and "These Shining Lives" (St. John's Players), the latter for which she won Best Lighting Design at the 2024 Provincial Drama Society Festival. Sandra is the General Manager for Shakespeare by the Sea Festival, works at Memorial University (and sometimes in retail), sings at funerals, and occasionally talks about TV on CBC Radio and TikTok.

Sandra prefers to read non-fiction about historical events ("Midnight in Chernobyl" by Adam Higgenbotham), food ("Chop Suey Nation" by Ann Hui), and media production ("I'll Have What She's Having" by Erin Carlson). She's still searching for the perfect work that intersections these three topics.

🔥Meet the cast of THE LIFESPAN OF A FACT! 🔥

ANDREW PRESTON as Jim Fingle

Andrew Preston (he/him) is a theatre artist based out of St. John's, Newfoundland, and has been involved in productions in the St. John's community and across the province for over eight years. He has had the opportunity to work for companies such as Perchance Theatre and, most recently, Rising Tide, where he has worked for the past several summers. This past May he also had the pleasure of working once again with Best Kind Productions on Heathers: The Musical, where he had a blast playing JD. He is so excited to be a member of this team and to be involved in telling such a thought-provoking and relevant story.

Andrew tends to favour non-fiction books and media rooted in his somewhat unique crossover of interests, sports and musical theatre. Most recently he finished Pipeline to the Pros (Danny Parkins and Ben Kaplin) and is currently making his way through Finishing the Hat (Stephen Sondheim). Andrew would like to sincerely thank everyone who has come out to support this production. The growth of our local theatre community depends on people taking the time to come out and see shows like ours, so thank you again, it is so appreciated.
