I do not get the opportunity to use copper patina (which changes the colour of the solder lines) often. But when the colour of the glass match the copper lines, it really changes the look of the piece.

Just finished this custom piece for a friend’s mom. The sky came out really good.

Changing the colour of the lines from sliver to black is the last step in creating a stained glass piece. I think it is my favourite step for two reasons. Firstly, the black lines make the colours stand out and second the piece is finished.

Patina! Short video of applying black patina. This chemical changes the colour of the soldering lines. I usually use black because it makes the colours in the glass pop.

Soldering! this is the final step in completing this whale tail. This time-lapse only shows soldering one side, but I actually solder the back of the piece and the front twice.
