Aburatsu prefecture - we went to the obi castle this where Connor took on a samurai and we saw real samurai armour. It was so beautiful! Connor knelt like the samurai sh**un and kian and Connor went into a real tea room. Then we went to udo-jingo shrine - a Shinto shrine carved into a natural cave on the ocean. We threw clay stones into the pot for good luck, prayed to the gods for peace and wellness for our family, and climbed up and down 600+ steps! Kian went to the boat after that and Connor, j and I went into town. Very small town but absolutely lovely people! Yummy lunch and I got my first authentic matcha latte! Connors in the pool with his buddies now and kian went with jay to get his third ice cream cone of the day. The boys get a little homesick at night but they certainly had fun today! Half way done!

Tomorrow- kochi!

Hiroshima - stressful getting off the boat because our last port was Korea. We had to go through customs which took 2 hours! That meant we didn’t not see the peace museum as planned. But we went to Itsukushima shrine on myrajima island. It is a special place and I would go again. Very crowded. Tour guide gave us some really sad stories about her town - the one that hit me the most was over 100,000 died (the real number is unknown) in the bomb. There were bodies everywhere of course. Even now if anyone digs the may easily come across human remains. The whole city is a grave yard. There are tall trees that were planted 75 years ago to help regrow the vegetation.
She mentioned that they say the trees are tall because of the human remains as fertilizer. I could not imagine living in a place with this kind of destruction as a heritage.

Full day 1 DISNEY SEA! Goal was to rope drop and close and that’s what we did! Not without drama though - risers exceeded what I could possibly expect (one ride line was 5 HOURS LONG! But we managed to get on all the rides that we had planned on. Kids had their emotions, but did the whole day. They were troopers and had fun! Tomorrow and the next day we are have quiet days on the Diamond Princess! Chill , quiet and planned days ahead!
