Great Lakes Artist Series invites audiences to experience An Evening of Italian Art Song on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at St. Luke’s Cathedral, 160 Brock Street, Sault Ste. Marie.
This one-hour concert will bring the beauty of Italian art song to life through expressive melodies, heartfelt poetry, and the artistry of two accomplished vocal performers: David Dellaire, baritone, and Melinda Delorme, soprano.
Presented during GLAS’s inaugural year, the evening celebrates Melinda Delorme as the series’ Visiting Artist in Residence.
Whether audiences are longtime lovers of classical vocal music or discovering Italian art song for the first time, the program promises an accessible and moving concert experience in one of Sault Ste. Marie’s most resonant performance spaces.

As GLAS launches its inaugural year, Melinda Delorme appears as the series’ Visiting Artist in Residence, bringing a distinguished career in opera, concert repertoire, education, and community theatre to this special performance.
As GLAS’s Visiting Artist in Residence, Melinda Delorme will travel to Sault Ste. Marie to share her professional experience with local audiences and emerging performers. Throughout the series, she will appear in all three concerts: An Evening of Italian Art Song, An Evening of Arias, and Stars and the Moon: A Jason Robert Brown Musical R***e, bringing her artistry across opera, art song, and musical theatre. In addition to performing, she will lead an advanced youth workshop designed to introduce interested young singers to opera through coaching, mentorship, and practical insight from a professional performer.
