I am working on my first zine, entitled FLUXE, a collection of mini photo and art projects gathered over the past year while being here in Saskatoon. For those that are not familiar with the word zine, it is a self-published booklet typically created from photocopy machines and assembled using stapler. It was long before the digital age publishing.
FLUXE, however will be printed using modern printing methods. The writing is nearly complete. I am still researching printers that can execute it the way I like. Hopefully the Canadian postal strike will be over by the time I get these printed.

My first time photographing the Northern Lights just outside the house. It is the first time I have seen the lights since I was a kid growing up in Nipawin. Mesmerizing and beautiful.

My photograph of my friend Yusuke appears in the New York Times Style Magazine in an article by Mark Harris.

If you have a subscription, you can read the article by doing a search for "new york times mark harris gay men muscles". (Sorry I can post the URL link here because of Canadian regulations.)

The title of the article by Mark Harris is "Gay Men Have Long Been Obsessed With Their Muscles. Now Everyone Is."

Yusuke gallery album can be seen on my Asian Male website: https://theasianmale.com/project/gallery-39-yusuke/

These flower photographs were taken last year, shortly after I acquired the Nikon Z7, paired with the Nikkor 24-70mm F4 S lens. This lens, widely praised for its sharpness and ease of use, has quickly become my favorite. I prefer it over my previous 24-70mm AF-S lens on the D700, primarily because it's much lighter and more comfortable to handle. Despite owning one of the earliest Z line models, I'm thoroughly enjoying the experience of shooting with it.

It's hard to believe I painted this in 2016, eight years ago in my small studio in Chai Wan. It is a painting from The Vibratory Field, where the idea of particles or waves are the fundamental invisible structures to materialism (or rather, reality, as scientists know it). This was my attempt at movement or agitation, and hence the title 'Travelling'. It has found its way to a home in the USA. It is always a peculiar feeling to know it is being cared for by another person. It has travelled quite extensively from studio to studio, from continent to continent.

A few images from the flowers I have planted and nurtured over the past month. I thought I would put my Nikon cameras and lenses to the test. Unfortunately I do not own a macro lens, but experimented with what lenses I did have and cropped as necessary. Besides the beauty of flowers and nature, I do get to de-stress. These and others are available for sales as Open Edition Prints (unsigned and unlimited) on my ecommerce website https://artorijin.com/collections/summer-flowers1?page=1. All images are printed on fine art papers by Hahnemühle.
