Mixing wheel-thrown classics with some fun new handbuilding experiments. ✨️🌿🌸

The lidded pots are an old favorite of mine—one is becoming a honey pot 🍯 and the other two will become garlic keepers 🧄.

But the real excitement is the new stuff. I just finished these oversized pasta/salad bowls, some monstera leaf trinket dishes 🌿 (perfect for holding rings and keys), and a few garden flowers 🌼🌸

For the flowers, the plan is to glaze them in bright, vibrant colors and attach them to green stakes so they can live in the garden year-round. ☀️ Handbuilding is new to me so fingers crossed everything survives the greenware stage and makes it safely through the kiln! 🤞

Still Forest Mugs 🌙

Quiet, grounding, and cozy — like standing in a still forest when everything feels calm.

Each one is slightly unique, which makes them feel extra special.

Just added to the shop in limited quantities 🤍

Golden Ember Mugs 🔥

Still playing with this glaze combination, but I’m really loving where it’s heading. The warm golden tones and soft movement feel like glowing embers settling in.

I’ll be exploring another version of this—looking for a little less movement in the ember detail 💛

Glazes: Amaco Golden Honey (bottom), Mayco Cheetah + Amaco Snow (top/inside)

Yikes! Looks like she runs hot 🔥

I programmed my regular cone 5.5 schedule (top temp 2180° with a 10-minute hold), but according to the witness cones it fired past cone 6 😬

It even pushed some of my matte glazes glossy. They still look good… just not quite what I had in mind. Looks like I’ve got a bit of a learning curve with this new kiln.

Any other L&L kiln owners find theirs fires hotter than expected?
Did you end up lowering your top temp?
