The lawsuit claims students faced antisemitic and anti-Zionist activities, speeches, harassment and alleged assaults, and is seeking $5 million in punitive damages, along with partial reimbursement of tuition fees. 💰⚖️

🇨🇦⛽ Doug Ford is urging Prime Minister Mark Carney to keep the federal gas tax cut in place, warning that restoring the tax now, amid U.S. tariff threats and rising cost-of-living pressures, could put even more strain on Canadian families. 💰📈

The temporary fuel tax break, introduced in April, has been saving drivers about 10¢ per litre on gasoline and 4¢ per litre on diesel. However, the measure is currently set to expire after September 7. ⏳

In a letter to Carney on Friday, Ford called for the cut to be extended through at least the end of 2026, or made permanent to help Canadians manage everyday costs. 🚗🍁💵

⛽ FORD URGES CARNEY TO KEEP FEDERAL FUEL TAX SUSPENDED

Ontario Premier Doug Ford is calling on Prime Minister Mark Carney to extend the federal suspension of the gasoline and diesel excise tax until at least Jan. 1, 2027. 🇨🇦

Ford says bringing the tax back next month could raise costs for families and businesses already dealing with high living expenses and economic uncertainty. 📈💰 He also warned that higher fuel prices could increase transportation costs and push up prices for everything from groceries to manufactured goods.

Ford pointed to Ontario’s permanent fuel-tax cuts as an example, arguing that continued federal relief would provide much-needed support for Canadians—especially those in rural, northern and suburban communities. 🚗🏡

His message to Ottawa: now is not the time to raise fuel costs. ⛽🇨🇦
