PSA: re ChatGTP is not an artist..

So I feel like I need to put this out there for people because it’s becoming a problem. ChatGPT, or AI in general, has no idea what you can get away with as far as how a tattoo is done, and how much room you need to get away with certain things. People keep bringing me images that cannot be tattooed properly (whether it’s due to the size or the amount of detail ) and while I appreciate that they want to have some input in the design, if you go to an artist that can draw it for you you can still have some input in the design. I ask my clients to show me a couple of things they like the way they’re tattooed style wise, and I will draw them something original, based on the guidance they give me. Then you aren’t seeing your tattoo on 20 other ppl at the beach 😂

We’re in an age where there’s tattoo & piercing studios on every corner in every small town. With the only regulation being the Health Unit, who, btw, you can ask about any studio you are considering, but has no jurisdiction over the quality or technique of any individuals, it is a dice roll walking into any new (to you) studio. All of my new clients come from other clients referrals. I don’t get sucked into price haggling, or the social media frenzy, which imo is a popularity contest for ppl who get taken by how flashy your advertising is or how politically correct it is etc etc..or photoshopped pictures and trying to trick people and trying to fish people in with specials and stuff like that. I am not self-taught and after 25 years I’m perfectly happy having the type of clients that I have, people who get work that is important to them and it matters to them that it’s important to me… and the bonus is they pay less than they would at any other shop that does nice work. Stop by and say hi, I’m more than happy to show you tattoos I’ve done 25 years ago that are still colourful or talk to you about the next piece you’re dreaming of, whether to help deal with a loss or commemorate something you’ve been through or just speaks to your personality.

Well everybody we've been released, we're gonna wait for Haley to publish the actual numbers but I believe it's over $1300 that we raised today for the library and we're all very proud and very happy to have taken part!
