Excited to share that Emergence, a collaborative sculpture by my brother Adam Kent and me, is part of the 2026 Oak Bay Arts Alive outdoor sculpture exhibition.
The opening tour and celebration was yesterday, July 16, at Causton’s Green, right where the sculpture stands.
Emergence brings together crushed prairie field stone in the face and Vancouver Island stone in the body, built by my brother Adam, a fifth-generation master stonemason. For us, the piece is about family, distance, land, and how identity is shaped by place, pressure, time, and connection.
Thank you to our sponsors Adventure Clothing and Burt's Barbershop, and everyone involved in making Arts Alive possible at Oak Bay Parks, Recreation, & Culture.
If you’re in Oak Bay, come by, walk the tour, and spend some time with the work.
