A rosette, is the heart of the instrument. I wanted to pick woods with a very strong symbolic, in terms of colors that represent a fox!
- Wenge (Black) for the ears and legs;
- Pao Ferro (orange) for the majority of the furr;
- Maple (White) for the end of the tail.
The blue color in the purflings is a nice add-on to make the rosette "pop". Plus, this is the color of the ocean (or water), the Heart of Life. The claro-walnut purfling is a nice transition between redwood & wenge.
I picked a beautiful redwood Soundboard for this project, and I love the relationship I had been able to built between it, and the Rosette.
