Summerfolk Music and Crafts Festival, a beloved event hosted by the Georgian Bay Folk Society (GBFS), is a celebrated ambassador for folk culture. Summerfolk has become a cornerstone of the Grey Bruce region's arts and music scene and will proudly mark its 50th anniversary from August 15-17, 2025.

You know what’s hard? Singing harmonies so good that you sound like sisters - like you’ve been singing together since the womb. In music performance, family harmony usually only happens if you are family.

While they grew up not far from one another, the Good Lovelies weren’t siblings. But when you listen to them sing, when you hear those voices drifting across a field, you feel transported. They aren’t sirens, though. They are not drawing you to your doom. They’re taking you to a better place.

You know what’s harder still? Finding the others who have the time and the desire to achieve that blend. Harmonies that good are like a tripod. Three distinct voices becoming one.
Caroline Brooks, Kerri Ough and Sue Passmore did just that. They played a gig one night as three separate acts, and two years later they were putting out their first recording; twenty years on, they are still at it.

It’s not just the harmonies, though. They are fantastic performers, with great stagecraft. They are great writers with a talent for expressing complex ideas simply.

We’re very happy to have the Good Lovelies joining us for Summerfolk 51. They will be on the amphitheatre stage on Saturday night and will join us for a couple of workshops Saturday and Sunday as well.

🎶 Some music doesn't just tell a story. It makes you feel it.

Burnstick is the JUNO-nominated Indigenous folk duo of Nadia and Jason Burnstick, whose powerful songwriting, heartfelt storytelling, and breathtaking vocal harmonies have captivated audiences across Canada.

Accompanied by Jason's masterful Weissenborn slide guitar and joined live by drummer Daniel Roy, Burnstick creates deeply moving music that lingers long after the final note. Their songs invite listeners to reflect, connect, and find pieces of their own stories within the music.

For over 30 years, Tanglefoot shared the stories, humour, and history of Canada with audiences across North America and beyond. Now they're back on stage, bringing the songs, harmonies, and unforgettable storytelling that made them one of Canada's most beloved folk groups.

Featuring Steve Ritchie, Al Parrish, Sandra Swannell Young, Rob Ritchie, and Josh Ritchie, this new chapter honours both the band's rich legacy and the friendships that have kept the music alive through generations.
