💐 We want to give a *BIG THANK-YOU* to everyone who made Choir Camp such a special event this summer.

🌟 A very important part of Choir Camp is Dr. Elaine Choi.

What did Elaine do at Choir Camp this summer?

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Elaine co-conducted and co-accompanied our mass choir with Dr. Mark Ramsay (Peterborough and Owen Sound camps)

🌏 She conducted babεl Chorus and moderated their workshop on Asian and Asian-Canadian choral music (Peterborough camp)

🎤 She accompanied and sang along with Choir Camp participant Christine Lau performing a traditional Chinese song at the talent show (Peterborough camp)

🎶 Throughout both weeks in Peterborough and Owen Sound, Elaine encouraged and motivated all of our singers with positivity and joy. She guided and channeled our many voices to sing as one. She taught and coached us to sing better and to express ourselves through song. She is the loving heart ❤️ at the centre of Choir Camp.

🙏 Thank you, Elaine, for giving so much of yourself so all of us can sing together and share the joy of making music in such a beautiful way!

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦👨‍👩‍👧‍👦👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Pro Coro Canada chamber choir performs on Wednesday, July 22, at 7pm. Please join us at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, 865 2nd Ave W. in Owen Sound.

🦁🦋🥀 Come hear a fantastical program entitled Once Upon a Time. Take a journey in song through myths, folk and fairy tales from Hans Christian Andersen to contemporary adaptations, with Yeats and Albanian folk tales, and other enchanting poems and stories.

✍️🎼 The concert will also showcase the works of several prominent Edmonton composers including John Estacio, Laura Hawley, and Allan Gilliand, as well as the premiere of a new choral work by composer Stuart Be**ch.

Pro Coro Canada performs on July 22 and Choir Camp presents its end-of-week concert on July 24, both at 7:00 p.m. at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 865 2nd Ave W. in Owen Sound. Admission is Pay What You Can.

At the July 22 concert, Pro Coro Canada from Edmonton will present a choral program entitled Once Upon a Time, taking the audience on a journey in song through myths and fairy tales from Hans Christian Andersen to contemporary adaptations, with folk tales from Yeats and Albania, and other enchanting poems and stories. The performance will showcase the works of several prominent Edmonton composers including John Estacio, Laura Hawley, and Allan Gilliand, as well as the premiere of a new choral work by composer Stuart Be**ch.

The July 24 concert will begin with Choir Camp’s small choirs. Lynn Janes and James Pinhorn will direct the Musical Theatre choir with songs like “A Million Dreams” from The Greatest Showman and “May It Be” from The Lord of the Rings. Dr. Lorinda Van Wyk will direct the Global Music choir, which is learning folk songs from South Africa, Japan, and New Zealand. Matthew Allard will direct the Early Music choir, featuring Renaissance and medieval repertoire. The concert will end with five selections performed by our 90-voice mass choir, co-directed by Dr. Elaine Choi and Dr. Mark Ramsay.

Choir Camp presents a choral extravaganza concert on Friday, July 17, at 7:00 p.m. at the Anglican Church of St. John the Evangelist, at 99 Brock Street in Peterborough. Admission is Pay What You Can.

The concert will begin with our small choirs. Lynn Janes and James Pinhorn will direct the Musical Theatre small choir, which will also divide up into a soprano/alto ensemble and a tenor/bass ensemble. Dr. Lorinda Van Wyk will direct the Global Music choir, which is learning folk songs from South Africa, Japan, and New Zealand. Matthew Allard will direct the Early Music choir, featuring Renaissance and medieval repertoire.

The concert will end with our 100-voice mass choir, co-directed by Dr. Elaine Choi and Dr. Mark Ramsay.

Choir Camp is an annual summer choral event bringing together over 100 singers from across Ontario and Canada for five days of friendship, singing and learning. The camp has been held in Owen Sound for the last three summers, and this year Choir Camp will host camps in both Peterborough (July 13-17) and Owen Sound (July 20-24).
