In July following our Festival of Words production “Death of Psychiatrist” the Moose Jaw Community Players held an additional performance at the Moose Jaw Public Library.
Admission was by donation, with all proceeds supporting Willow Lodge Emergency Centre.

Thanks to the generosity of our audience, and with the Moose Jaw Community Players matching the funds, we were proud to donate an incredible $2,524.46 to Willow Lodge.

Willow Lodge Emergency Centre provides important support and a safe, welcoming space for individuals experiencing hardships in Moose Jaw. We are honoured to contribute to their ongoing efforts and hope this donation helps them continue to offer the essential support and services that so many people rely on.

Couldn’t make our auditions this weekend? You still have time to join!

We are urgently looking to fill a male lead role for our upcoming production of “Lover’s Twist” playing ages late 20’s to 40’s.

Drop in auditions are tomorrow, Tuesday August 25 starting at 5:30PM until 6:30PM at the Moose Jaw Centre for Arts & Culture

No experience needed!

Moose Jaw Community Players is holding open auditions for our fall production featuring two Saskatchewan one-act plays: "Lover’s Twist" by Karma Klassen and "Where It Hurts" by Wendy Lockman.

Friday, August 21 6:00–9:00 PM
Saturday, August 22 3:00–6:00 PM
at the Moose Jaw Centre for Arts and Culture

No preparation necessary; sides will be provided for cold reads. Actors will be considered for both shows, though preferences can be noted.

Moose Jaw Community Players is looking for performers for our fall production featuring two Saskatchewan one-act plays: **Lover’s Twist** by Karma Klassen and **Where It Hurts** by Wendy Lockman.

Auditions are open — no prep required! Sides will be provided for cold reads.

🎭 AUDITION NOTICE: Saskatchewan One-Act Plays

Moose Jaw Community Players is holding open auditions for our fall production featuring two Saskatchewan one-act plays:

Lover’s Twist
by Karma Klassen
Directed by Karma Klassen

Where It Hurts
by Wendy Lockman
Directed by Brian Dueck

Auditions will be held at the Moose Jaw Centre for Arts and Culture (217 Main St N.) on:
Friday, August 21, 2026 6:00–9:00 PM
Saturday, August 22, 2026 3:00–6:00 PM

No preparation is required. Scripts will be provided for cold reads, and actors may be asked to read more than one scene. Actors will be auditioning for both shows, though they may indicate a preference if desired.

Playing ages are approximate, and we welcome all interested performers to audition.

Performances will take place October 29 & 30, 2026 at the Moose Jaw Library Theatre. Performers should expect evening and weekend rehearsals beginning in late August, with increased availability required closer to showtime.

Meet the people behind the show!

Join us for our final performance of James Hutchison's Death and the Psychiatrist this Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at the Moose Jaw Public Library Theatre. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and admission is by donation. At just 50 minutes long, it's a great activity to pair with supper out! If you've already seen the show, bring a friend. If you've been waiting for the perfect opportunity, this is it!

This performance is about more than great theatre, it's also about giving back. Moose Jaw Community Players is matching all proceeds from both our Festival of Words performance and Thursday's final performance, with every dollar going to support the Willow Lodge Warming Centre right here in Moose Jaw.

Every psychiatrist needs a couch and every production needs community support! Thank you to our Community Partner Ashdown’s Furniture for helping furnish Death and the Psychiatrist and supporting local arts. 🎭

Join us at the Moose Jaw Public Library Theatre on Saturday, July 18th (9 and 10:10 am, $10 or FoW pass at the door) or Thursday, July 23rd (7 pm, entry by donation at the door) to see the Ashdown’s transformation!
