Organ Jam 2025 was a great success! Thank you to all the wonderful musicians who were so generous with their talent and the regular attendees who were so generous with their ears. The house band was solid and joyous every night and those musicians elevated the music whenever they played. The jammers were stalwart and impressive, especially the youth wing of the jazz community, they’ve got their priorities straight – swing!
It’s thanks to Brutopia that this event gets off the ground at all. One would assume that such a music-focused activity would require constant advocacy and negotiation with a venue to continue. Not at Brutopia! Jeff Picard and the staff there greet us as family and treat us all like royalty. Our gratitude cannot be understated, and we hope that they keep us coming back for more jazz kitchen parties down the road. Our heartfelt thanks to Brutopia Brew Pub!
Special thanks to Martin K. Petersen. This guy makes stuff happen with grace and then plays the organ like an unhinged monster! He is the engine of that ensemble and he was in fine form this year, thank you Martin.
Finally, some important people to mention. Al McLean is an international class musician who could easily find better things to do with his time, I’m sure. He’s also an international class instrument tech who has a lot on his plate, and his hobbies are far from casual interests. Al was there and has been there nearly every night since this whole jam thing started decades ago, and he is a big reason that the music maintains its quality and authenticity. From our overflowing blood-pumping organ, our heart, thank you Al McLean!
We’d also like to thank Daniel Witkowski, who is mutating into an organic species at an alarming rate. Daniel, you might want to get that checked out by a professional before it gets out of control. Kudos for perfect attendance and critical emergency organ relief for two years straight!

C'est aussi un technicien d'instrument de classe internationale qui a beaucoup à faire, et ses passe-temps sont loin d'être des intérêts occasionnels. Al était présent et l'a été presque tous les soirs depuis que cette jam a commencé il y a des décennies, et c'est en grande partie grâce à lui que la musique conserve sa qualité et son authenticité.
