So grateful to have Huirui Zhang [.huirui] in our team, a talented emerging curator who will present a "pre-game for IG Takeovers”, as part of 'PH V - How to Swallow a Hollow Knot' on tomorrow Saturday, August 28 at Peripheral Hours!
'Breathe In: What Taste Do You Smell?'
Scents never lie about us. What we smell, taste and eat subtly diffuses into our blood and becomes part of our memory. In this little activity for PH V’s upcoming IG artist take-over, Huirui invites all guests to a special outdoor “dark table.” Let’s forget about vision for once and smell into the forgotten past to awaken those long-lost tastes.
Art Sale & Exhibition: 4-6pm

Due to limited capacity and covid19 safety, visitors attending the performances must pre-book one of the two time slots (via eventbrite):

Slot 1 • 6-8pm
Performances by Joni Cheung & Nesreen Galal + brief presentation by Huirui Zhang

Slot 2 • 8-10pm

Such an honour to have Amanda Gutierrez [] who will invite the public to participate in her sound walk practice 'Guzá Stubi', as part of 'PH V - How to Swallow a Hollow Knot' on Saturday, August 28 at 9pm at Peripheral Hours!
'Guzá Stubi'
'Guzá Stubi', means in Zapotec, She Walks Alone, a participatory soundwalk that embraces nighttime listening as an exercise of intimacy and collective thinking.

We are thrilled to feature Nesreen Galal [] who will be performing 'Tangled Echoes (‎أعادة)', a very personal piece as a response to 'PH V – How to Swallow a Hollow Knot' on Saturday, August 28, at 7pm at Peripheral Hours!
'Tangled Echoes (‎أعادة)'
Through repetition of performance, Nesreen reclaims a sacred part of her own culture, deconstructing the white gaze, oriental gaze and the colonial dominant discourse use of “oriental” negative stereotypes which is commonly represented repeatedly over western media.
Art Sale: 4-6pm
Performances: 6-10pm (pre-booking required)

'Let it Simmer'
In Let it Simmer, Snack Witch aka Joni Cheung invites you to sit down with us and enjoy a bowl of 例湯 daily soup. Inspired by all the variations that exist, the simplicity of ingredients, yet time-consuming nature of preparing and making these nourishing broths, we look forward to sharing and holding space with you to check-in and catch-up.
Free admission with limited spots. Covid19 protocols will be followed. Online pre-registration is required.
