The Montreal Art Center and Museum is a not for profit supporting visual and performing artists.

The Montreal Art Centre and Museum hosts a community of local artists creating and exhibiting their works in a historic 19th century patromonial building, located at 1844 William Street in the Griffintown district of Montreal. There are Art Galleries and exhibition spaces featuring a spectacular Permenant Collection of International master artworks, along with the works of the member artists. An intimate 15 seat VIP Cinema, different lounges and bars along with Historic Wax Figures of Quebec Founders in a Nouvelle France Gallery and a Baroque Room await you! A visit to the Montreal Art Center and Museum is taking a step back in time to the 19th century!

Camille Zaroubi - Khamsa 01 - Acrylic - 19.5 x 26

Lebanese Canadian landscape architect, restoration ecologist, and installation artist.

Notable installations like Acoustic Mirrors and Mer du vent, featured at the Jardins de Métis and Centre d art de Kamouraska, explore the multisensorial experience of the landscape by investigating the poetics of territory through lo fi acoustic media.

Current work centers on fast paced, acrylic ink portraits on polypropylene plastic paper. Using urgent strokes and poured paint to overcome the medium's rapid dry time, the work captures human and animal subjects always with hidden eyes. Hidden by shadows or by nearby objects, creating raw, high tension portraits of immediacy.

The artwork presented for the competition is called Khamsa 01. An acrylic ink portrait on polypropylene plastic paper. (26 in x 19.5 in)

Shalini Prasad, is an active member of the Federation of Canadian artists. She attended Emily Carr for art studies pre-college, then, pursued her artistic interests as a PFD (Professional Floral Designer). Now, she continues to explore art through acrylic painting. Shalini has been accepted in many art shows, both locally and internationally.

Shalini comes from a family of artists; her father is a master carpenter. As the eldest of four daughters, she decided to sign her paintings with her maiden name, Prasad, in order to preserve her family name.

Chrystian est un artiste peintre dont la vocation s'est révélée dès l'enfance. Animé par une créativité sans limites, il exprime ses émotions à travers des œuvres uniques où l'imagination ne connaît aucune frontière.

Après avoir obtenu son baccalauréat à Montréal, il a enrichi sa démarche artistique grâce à une vaste expérience culturelle acquise à travers le monde. Son talent lui a valu plusieurs distinctions et l'a conduit à transmettre son savoir en tant que professeur auprès de groupes de jeunes peintres et sculpteurs.

Au cours de sa carrière, Chrystian a réalisé plus de 200 œuvres. Ses créations ont été choisies pour embellir de prestigieuses boutiques et espaces commerciaux. Il est également l'artiste qui a réalisé les portraits de deux importants Maison Cossus, au Canada et aux États-Unis, confirmant ainsi la reconnaissance de son travail sur la scène internationale.

Aujourd'hui, Chrystian poursuit son parcours artistique avec la même passion, créant des œuvres qui témoignent de sa sensibilité, de son audace et de son engagement envers l'art.

In grade 12 when I was taking an Art History correspondence course I became fascinated with the Impressionists, post-Impressionists and Neo Impressionists.. Particularly Georges Seurat. Seurat revolutionized Impressionistic work with his theory that the human eye would blend together points of colour to form another colour. Pointillism. His theory has always fascinated me. And I try to incorporate it into my work every day. I paint layers of colour with particular attention to how the colour affects the next. Creating light, mood and emotion.

Lately I have been working on reflections, refracting light in water and translucent light in landscapes. Trying to capture light in its brilliance or melancholy, as the case may be. Becoming a bit more aware of the mood in a landscape.
Member of the Society of Canadian Artists and the Federation of Canadian Artists.

Je m'appelle Salima Lahlioui , je suis une artiste autodidacte. Depuis mon enfance, j'aime les couleurs, la peinture, coller de petits motifs, des perles...et cela grâce à ma mère Chmichami, qui est elle même artiste. Dans sa vie, elle faisait de la broderie, du perlage, du tricot...C'est pourquoi, dans mes toiles, vous trouverez de la brillance(paillettes), des perles ou encore des motifs en 3D, tout cela pour donner vie à mes œuvres.
Depuis 8 ans, je prends un immense plaisir à créer des portes, car je trouve que ce symbole permet d'explorer l'espoir, le passage vers de nouveaux horizons, de nouveaux départs.
Pour moi, la porte symbolise aussi une époque: elle reflète une période historique, car elle change selon la créativité de son temps.
La porte n'est pas seulement un élément architectural, elle représente également la transition vers l'inconnu, les obstacles à franchir, l'ouverture vers une nouvelle vie, de nouvelles expériences, un passage entre le passé et le future.
Chaque œuvre est réalisée avec beaucoup d'amour, de plaisir et de minutie.
Selon mon approche, je vise à créer un dialogue entre l'œuvre et le public, ou chacun peut projeter sa propre vision, son imagination et son histoire.
Pour moi, derrière chaque porte se cache une promesse, un souhait, une émotion, un souvenir nostalgique, une rencontre et un nouvel espoir.

Bio:
Anne Thibault, née au Québec en 1959, crée aujourd’hui à Terrebonne, dans Lanaudière. Initiée à l’art dès l’adolescence, elle découvre la peinture et la danse et rencontre notamment le peintre Marcel Bellerive.

Après une carrière en gestion dans le réseau public de la santé et une pause artistique de plus de 20 ans, elle retourne à la peinture et s’y consacre désormais pleinement. Sous la signature « Tibo », elle travaille principalement l’acrylique et les techniques mixtes, fusionnant réalisme et abstraction. Inspirée notamment par M.C. Escher, Banksy, Basquiat et Manessier, elle explore la lumière, l’ombre, la texture et les contrastes afin de créer des œuvres contemplatives.

Son travail a reçu plusieurs distinctions et certaines de ses œuvres ont été acquises par la Ville de Terrebonne. Elle a également exposé à Toronto et Shanghai et figuré dans des magazines spécialisés.
