Tashme Productions We're taking over our own page! IG@tashmeproductions TW@tashmeproject Tk: Digital Dreams.

We are proud to present 14 Artists selected from the Japanese Canadian Artist Directory who will collaborate over the next 4 months to create exciting new work. As cultural connectors and activists, Tashme Productions is so proud to contribute to our national community as Japanese Canadians, showcasing the vibrancy of contemporary Japanese Canadian art practice to both our community, and a wider C

anadian audience with Yume. Tashme Productions began as a way to disseminate our documentary play The Tashme Project: The Living Archives. Made up of 20 interwoven interviews with Nisei from Toronto, Hamilton, Kingston, Montreal and Vancouver, the piece plays out against a subtle background of moving light, archival stills and projected environments. The Nisei (2nd generation Japanese Canadian), now in their 70’s and 80’s, were children at the time of internment and their stories of adventure and play are presented in sharp relief to the more common internment narratives of hardship and injustice. Constructed with a purposeful gracefulness, great emphasis is placed on the smooth transitioning from voice to voice, story to story with a seamless fluidity. Created and performed by Julie Tamiko Manning and Matt Miwa, the piece is an embodiment of Nisei character, language, spirit and story.

I’m so excited I’m speechless!

Y'all, the last time Tableau D'Hôte was in a physical theatre was back in the way times of 2019.

We are beyond thrilled to finally be bringing Mizushōbai (The Water Trade) by/de Julie Tamiko Manning to The Segal Centre for Performing Arts after years of development with Playwrights' Workshop Montréal!

Now how jaw-droppingly beautiful is this poster by AJ Makes Things?

Please vote for the Hope Train station
to receive funds so they can transform the station into a heritage tourism and education hub, with a restaurant, museum, visitor centre, and co-work office space with interpretive storytelling.

As a “Gateway to our stories, gateway to hope”, it will be the storybook and storyteller of stories untold: stories of Japanese Canadians, Chinese Canadians, First Nations, and supply chain histories.
