There’s something powerful about the meeting of words, music, and the body…
In Ecstatic Dance, we usually leave very little room for words. We step out of our minds, put our thoughts on pause, and let our bodies take the lead.
But words hold so much power. They can move us, inspire us, awaken emotions, and touch something deep within us.
And when we’re already fully in our bodies, we experience words differently. We don’t just understand them, we feel them. We let them resonate through our bodies, our hearts, our souls.
That’s what I love so much about OVEOUS . He blends spoken word with House and Afro House beats, creating a space where poetry, music, and movement come together in a beautiful way.
When music opens up the body, words can reach us even more deeply.
And that’s exactly what we’re coming together to experience this Sunday, October 18!
First, Mr.Raven & Umi Martin-Dussault will guide us into our bodies with an Afro-House-Ecstatic set, inviting us to surrender to the movement.
Then, we let words enter our dance through the poetry and beats of OVEOUS, joined by Gotta Lago on live percussion.
