Toni (.ka.ni) a fellow traveller who was staying with me at in , , decided she wanted to get a .
In a piece that I made while staying at the hostel, I converted the faces of an orchestra playing that we had seen together into a sort of line-art language to accompany a digital clown. (Can see in my last post)
Enjoying this style, Toni asked me to use the same technique with an image of my face for her tattoo.
During my last night at Le Mat Hostel, I took a low-resolution picture from my Israel volunteer visa and converted it to line art.
A few days later, Toni sent me a picture of her new tattoo, which I sent to a group chat of some of my closest friends, knowing they would appreciate the spontaneity of it.
When I returned to Canada to officiate the wedding of two of this group's members, they surprised me by revealing the matching tattoos that most of them got while I was gone. The bride was the one who tattooed them all, very beautifully.
Some people say we’re not a cult.
Love you all.
