PRÉSENTATION DU SOLISTE DU 10 MAI: Michael Prudencio-Brunello est de retour pour une deuxième saison comme violoncelliste au sein d’I Medici di McGill. Étudiant en quatrième année de médecine à l’Université McGill, il poursuivra sa formation en anesthésiologie à l’Université Dalhousie. Il s’intéresse particulièrement à l’intersection entre musique et médecine, cherchant à créer des environnements propices à la guérison.

Michael débute le violoncelle en 2007 à The Beckett School de l’Université Laurier, sous la direction de Mark Norris. Ses performances en solo lui valent plusieurs prix et bourses au Kiwanis Music Festival, où il est finaliste au niveau provincial. Il rejoint en 2009 le Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony Youth Orchestra Program, auquel il participe pendant 10 ans, s’y produit comme soliste en 2017 et reçoit la bourse Alveretta Henderson, remise au musicien d’orchestre le plus remarquable du programme.

En parallèle de la musique, il obtient une ceinture noire (Black Sash) en kung-fu Shaolin des cinq animaux à la Waterloo Kung-Fu Academy, ainsi qu’un baccalauréat en sciences biomédicales à l’Université de Guelph.

ENGLISH

Michael Prudencio-Brunello returns for his second season as a cellist with I Medici di McGill. A fourth-year medical student at McGill University, he will pursue residency training in anesthesiology at Dalhousie University. He is driven by the intersection of music and medicine, aiming to cultivate environments of healing.

Michael began cello in 2007 at The Beckett School at Laurier University under Mark Norris. His solo work earned awards and scholarships at the Kiwanis Music Festival, including recognition as a provincial finalist. He joined the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony Youth Orchestra Program in 2009, where he performed for 10 years, appeared as a soloist in 2017, and received the Alveretta Henderson Scholarship for most outstanding orchestral performer.

Alongside music, he earned a Black Sash in Five-Animal Shaolin Kung-Fu at the Waterloo Kung-Fu Academy and completed a degree in Biomedical Science at the University of Guelph.

Venez vivre 'La Passion du violon' avec I Medici di McGill, un nouveau concert de la série Médecins musiciens, célébrant l’excellence musicale de médecins interprètes. Ce concert met en lumière un programme vibrant mêlant pièces virtuoses et classiques romantiques.

Join I Medici di McGill for "La Passion du violon", a new concert in the Médecins musiciens series, celebrating physicians who share their artistry through music. This performance features a vibrant program of virtuosic showpieces and romantic masterpieces.

Resident physician and violinist Dr Alexandre Sheasby takes center stage in fiery works by Sarasate, the Vocalise by Rachmaninoff, and lyrical gems by Amy Beach and Mascagni. The program also includes Grieg’s Peer Gynt Suite No. 1 and Sir Hubert Parry’s dramatic Symphony No. 3. The concert is conducted by Maestra Lori Antounian, Conductor and Music Director.
