💧 Looking back at the walking symposium Walking with Water and Sediment at the Beaudet Reservoir.

More than 70 people joined the Écotechnology Project to experience a dozen artistic interventions and take part in a cup-making workshop using sediment collected from the site.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended for your curiosity, enthusiasm, and participation in this day of sharing, creativity, and reflection on water, territory, and the materials that connect them.

[SORTIE DE RÉSIDENCE] 🎪✨ Recherche-création et cirque augmenté ━ La membre Oriane Morriet vous invite à découvrir un prototype de spectacle de cirque augmenté, développé en collaboration avec le centre HUPR (École nationale de cirque) dans le cadre de ses recherches postdoctorales.

À la suite de la représentation, elle présentera la méthodologie de recherche-création ayant guidé le projet, les choix technologiques, les outils et dispositifs mobilisés, ainsi que le processus d’écriture, de conception et de création de l’œuvre. Cette présentation permettra également d’aborder les enjeux et modalités de la collaboration entre les différents partenaires du projet.

L’activité se conclura par une discussion réunissant Oriane Morriet, les membres Sofian Audry et Danny Perrault (UQAM), ainsi que Chélanie Beaudin-Quintin (Université Concordia).

[DEMO73] 🛹 \ e.ko \ ━ In this DEMO, Max Boutin, a postdoctoral member, and Julien Paccard, a French Berlin-based artist invited for the occasion, reflect on the work they carried out as a duo.

\ e.ko \ is an exploratory residency project centered on the musicality of skateboarding sounds and the textural experience of urban materiality. Their collaboration led to the creation of new works that combine the performativity of skateboarding, artistic performance, and musical composition, which were presented in the residency’s culminating exhibition, also titled \ e.ko \.

[NEWS] 📣 New interim co-director ━ The Hexagram Network announces the appointment of Thierry B.-Gateau as Interim Co-Director and UQAM representative within the Network, replacing Sofian Audry during his sabbatical year.

Appointed as a co-investigator member this spring, Thierry B.-Gateau is a professor in the Department of Management at the ESG UQAM | École des sciences de la gestion. His academic background brings together art history, literature, music, and management. A graduate in double bass performance from Université Laval (2002), he also maintains an active practice as a performer in contemporary music, experimental music, and improvisation alongside his teaching activities.

[PUBLICATION] 📙 Yan Breuleux writes in the new publication “Audio-Visualism” ━ How do sound, music, and image interact to shape new forms of artistic expression?

This question lies at the heart of Audio-Visualism, a new edited volume to which Yan Breuleux, a professor at NAD-UQAC School and a co-investigator with the Hexagram Network, has contributed.

The book, published at Routledge Books, was officially launched at the Error404 Festival in England, an edition dedicated to contemporary artistic and technological practices. The event was organized by Gina Valenti and Steve Gibson, who also served as the volume’s editor.
