Meanwhile, in Storage Unit 3 at Sentinel Storage Sentinel Storage … 👀

Thank goodness Sentinel Storage is a Crown Jewel Sponsor of the Mission Renaissance Faire.

They provide the storage. And they haven’t asked too many questions. 😂

Nancy and our DIY team were busy making yet another perfectly normal addition to the Realm. Where do you think this formidable creepy being will be lurking in the Realm of River’s Edge?

A quick note about our earlier post: It was automatically labelled as AI content, so we removed it.

The Mission Arts Council Mission Arts Council and Mission Renaissance Faire have taken a stand against the use of generative AI artwork. Our Faire logo and poster artwork were hand drawn by a human artist, and supporting working artists matters deeply to us.

We do use Canva as a design tool, and it appears that certain Canva features now trigger an automatic AI-content label. In the case with our earlier graphic, it was unintentional.

We’ve recreated the post using artwork we’ve previously used so there is no confusion about where we stand.

Human artists make this Realm. And we intend to keep it that way. 🖤

THE CROW’S CODE: WEAPON GUIDELINES

We’ve been getting a LOT of questions about weapons at the Faire-so let’s clear a few things up.

Bringing a sword, dagger, axe or other costume weapon as part of your garb?

Our Combat Coordinator Nick shows you exactly what peace-tying/peace-bonding is, how it works, and what to expect when you arrive.

Real weapons are not permitted.
Costume weapons may be permitted-some will require peace-tying.
All costume weapons must pass through our Weapon Checkpoint outside the entrance gates before entering the Realm.
If your weapon isn’t approved, you’ll have the opportunity to return it to your vehicle.

And yes — we know you have more questions. Staffs, walking sticks, performer weapons and more will be answered in our FAQs. Be sure to watch our stories.

Wear your weapons. Do not wield them.

Please review The Crow’s Code: Weapon Guidelines before arriving at the Realm of River’s Edge.

THE CROW’S CODE: ON THE CARRYING OF BLADES & WEAPON’S

Knights with shining swords. Pirates with weathered cutlasses. Hunters with bows. Adventurers carrying curious tools from distant realms…

We know a good weapon can complete a magnificent Faire look. But before you enter into the Realm of River’s Edge, the crows would have you know:

• Real weapons are not permitted inside the Faire.
• Hard or realistic costume weapons must be sheathed and peace-tied.
• Our Weapon Check is located outside the main entrance. Our Gatekeepers will inspect and peace-tie weapons as required.
• Foam, plastic and clearly decorative costume weapons are welcome and generally do not require peace-tying.

Some time in the next few days our combat lead will show you exactly what peace-tying is — and how it’s done. Until then, remember the Crow’s Code:
Come armed with imagination.
Leave the actual combat to the professionals

Can you believe it?! In just 30 days, we will be together.

The gates will open.
The music will begin.
The villages will come alive.
And for one extraordinary weekend, the Realm of River’s Edge will rise along the Fraser.

For months, so many hands have been quietly building this world — our artists, performers, makers, volunteers, fighters, musicians, storytellers and dreamers.

And now, the crows are beginning to gather.

Over the next 30 days, you’ll meet some of the people who have helped bring this Faire to life, as they share what they are most looking forward to when we finally meet in the Realm.

Today, we begin with Nancy.

30 days, travellers. The crows will soon take wing.

And we cannot wait to welcome you home to the Realm. 🖤🐦‍⬛🖤

THE CROWS HAVE SEEN THE REALM FROM ABOVE. And now, travellers… so may you.

For the first time, we unveil the official map of the Realm of River’s Edge. Six villages. One Realm. And rather a lot to discover.

Sibberton — combat, tournaments and games
Faeholt — fae, forest paths and curious encounters
Questford — pirates, mermaids and the Crow’s Nest Deck Acoustic stage
Sagely — workshops, demonstrations and the Viking Longhouse
Mystic Hollow — mysteries lurking beneath the trees; the Plague Castle
Errendwick — home of Crow’s Perch Main Stage, the Frothy Fox Pub and plenty of merriment

And scattered between them?

Marketplaces. Minstrel stages. D&D. Raptors. Wolfhounds. A forge. Workshops. A Unicorn. Food. Performances. A Low Sensory Zone. The Crow’s Nest. And quite possibly a few things the crows have neglected to mention.

Swipe through the carousel to explore each village up close. →

Then SAVE THIS POST.
You are going to want it when you enter the Realm.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll take you deeper into each village and introduce you to the merchants, makers, performers and curious characters who will inhabit them.

The Realm of River’s Edge is no longer just a name. It’s a magical place.

The Crow’s Code to Trinket Trading at the Realm of River’s Edge.

Tiny treasures. Curious little objects. Unexpected gifts exchanged between travellers — sometimes for another trinket, and sometimes simply for the joy of giving one away.

But before you fill your pouch, the crows ask one very important question:

Can a crow carry it?

If the answer is yes, you’re probably on the right track.

Buttons. Charms. Feathers. Tiny keys. Polished stones. Ribbons. Tokens. Dice. Little handmade treasures and curious things that look as though a crow might have stolen them in the first place.

Trinket trading is completely optional. Always ask before trading, respect our vendors and entertainers, keep trades away from busy pathways and performances — and remember that the treasure is really the interaction, not the object.

Look for fellow traders wearing an orange ribbon — and we suspect a few black feathers may appear around the Realm as well.

And if you have treasures left at the end of your journey, bring them to the Mission Ren Faire Info tent and leave them in the Crow’s Treasure Nest for another traveller to discover.

The Crow’s Code has been written.

Now we have only one question…

What will YOU bring to trade? 👇
