The waiting is over, mes darlings! Auditions for all fall of 2026 projects are officially OPEN! ✨

It’s time to set up the tripods, and pull out your bag of tricks! We are looking to cast:

1. 🤹 Fundraiser Showcase (SEPT 12): A cabaret-style event including various acts: music, comedy, burlesque, and any other special talents that you will bring. Please send us videos of your best drag, burlesque, juggling, satire, dance, sword swallowing, hula-hooping, sandwich eating… If you feel like a STAR while doing it, we want to see it!

2. a) 🤡 Cabaret Pre-Show (Before each performance of Cabaret – NOV 5 - NOV 15), we will present a 30-minute pre-show of cabaret-style acts, max. 10 minutes each. The acts may vary from show to show based on artist availability, and may be reprises of our Fundraiser Showcase acts! (availability for both is not required).

2. b) 👯The MAIN EVENT! Kander, Ebb and Masteroff’s CABARET (NOV 5 – NOV 15, 2026) This will include a live band, and actors performing not only in their roles, but also as Kit Kat staff – serving drinks to audience members during the production.

Fig. 1 - Umberto Boccioni's "Futurist evening in Milan", 17 June 1911. This caricature depicts a "Futurist Serata," a radical precursor to modern performance art that challenged and reshaped the traditional cabaret format through deliberate provocation.

Fig. 2 - Marcel Slodki’s Cabaret Voltaire poster, 1916. Prints derived from this wood cut by Slodski acted as an advertisement for the grand opening of an artistic nightclub with the same name (Cabaret Voltaire). The magazine ran for only one issue.

Fig. 3 - Cover for “Le Mirliton” Magazine, No. 113, by Steinlen. This cover portrays a well-dressed gentleman turning his nose up at a street poster for the Aristide Bruant’s gritty Cabaret.

Fig. 4 - One of many of Theophile Alexandre Steinlen’s posters for, “Le Chat Noir”, 1907. Le Chat Noir was a groundbreaking shadow-theatre which ultimately defined the avant garde theatre movement with satirical comedy, and gritty, dark aesthetics.

Fig. 5 - The cover of Jugend Magazine, No. 8, by Julius Diez. The Art Nouveau movement (Jugendstil), was established with this publication, and ultimately characterized the German Cabaret in the turn of the century, fusing high art with popular satire.

Fig. 6 - “The Eleven Executioners” poster, by Marya Delvard. Munich’s first political Cabaret used macabre imagery to symbolize their goal of “executing” outdated artistic traditions.

Fig. 7 - George Grosz’ “Lovesick”, 1914. An impressionist piece depicting Berlin’s cabaret culture.

Fig. 8 - Moritz Jung’s “Cabaret Fledermaus” program cover, 1907. Fledermaus was the predominant avant-garde Cabaret in Vienna, Austria.

Fig. 9 - Program cover for the “Eleven Executioners". Their striking imagery, costumes, and acts were used to provoke societal reflection through dark satire, making them one of Germany’s most memorable political Cabarets.
