Orange Hat Film Productions

Orange Hat Film Productions An award-winning Canadian film production company creating high quality independent feature films and more since 2014.

Orange Hat Film Productions was founded by Darryl Ayles & Jamara Forbes late in 2013 while attending college in London, ON and officially launched April 26th, 2014. Orange Hat Film Productions Canada is a company built through a collaborative effort, a pool of knowledge, skills, advice, and experience. After graduating from Advanced Filmmaking at Fanshawe College, the members of OHFP were eager to

jump into the film industry and carry out the company vision of making festival quality - low budget, short films and music videos. Off to a good start, Darryl Ayles' second short film "Conscious" screened at the Hamilton Music and Film Festival in October 2014. Following that, OHFP began production on a three-season mini-series released on YouTube entitled Look What You Have Become. Following the mini series, OHFP has completed three feature length films: .44, Vent, and Door Into Darkness, the later of which is planned to release late 2022. Here at Orange Hat we understand the time it takes to develop an idea into something tight enough to take to camera. We all live by the company motto “Collaborate - Capture - Connect”

The Premiere Seats at had us pleasantly surprised during the season finale of

We were lucky enough to score tickets to see the final episode in theatres and man was it worth it! The sound design for the final battle was bone rattling!

Can’t believe the series is done after all these years. Hats off to the Duffer brothers for wrapping up like 8 different storylines and tying up loose ends for like 20 main characters in only 2.5 hours.

Have you watched the finale yet? What did you think? Will you be trying out Landmark’s premiere seating for a luxury theatre experience?

I dreamed of this sweater since we originally revamped our website, so happy to finally be able to create it myself thanks to for hooking us up with the press and for the long-lasting designs 🧡

Now that we have our own heat press the world is our oyster!

“Who hired the blind boom guy?” 😂

Never a dull moment on a set with your friends, if you’ve ever thought about making a film this is your sign to finish the script, find some actors, get someone who knows their camera, and shoot the damn thing! What you don’t succeed at this time will be more valuable as a lesson learned, especially when the stakes are low. Have fun, try things you’ve ✨ only seen in the movies ✨ and share it with your community! Host a screening, put it online, we need indie filmmakers now more than ever! We are dying to see your work, let us know what you’ve got going on!

Decking the halls for this scene in our upcoming feature film “Performance of the Year” was so much fun!

Set decoration for this scene was a mix of some of our personal Christmas items and quite a bit that we thrifted from and 🎄 from the mugs to the ugly Christmas sweaters to the pillows on the couch, we tried to make it feel like a real holiday hangout.

It was such a blast working on set with this cast and crew for this scene! And it’s always a shock dressing a location only to return it back to how we found it at the end of the night. It definitely reminded us of our experience filming “Leatherbound” at the townhouse Airbnb where it looked SO blah without the Halloween decor once we wrapped set.

Actors:

Makes me want to do a whole Christmas movie, it was such a vibe. Ever shot a holiday scene?

OF COURSE ITS NOT, but it looks pretty believable doesn’t it? 😉

The funniest moment on this shoot day was when we were all gathered around with our ground up vitamin D and not a single person knew how to make it look believable because no one had ever … ya know?

And our actor did these takes like a champ, and of course we tried it too, it did in fact burn quite a bit, but at least we left that day with a healthy dose of vitamins in our systems 😅😅

Find this entire 3-season web series on YouTube - “Look What You Have Become” filled with all the “cool” things we wanted to try after graduating film school! Link in Bio 🎥

Sometimes making the movies is way more fun 🙌🏽🎥🎬✨

These are some behind the scenes shots from our feature films over the years such as Leatherbound, T.A.S., One Night in Lethargia, Vent, and our latest, Performance of the Year 🎬

It’s so crazy to think that our first feature film .44 released in 2019 and we’ve completed nearly 7 more featured since 🤯

You can learn more about our films on our website or on !
