You are seeing double! A double neck acoustic guitar off the bench and into the hands of the new owner. Normally you see a 12 string with a 6 string on a double neck. My client requested 2 6 string necks to avoid tuning or sliding capo mid song.
Sitka spruce top with black walnut back and sides. Very cool project, it got the creative juices going.

Just over 8 years ago my wife and I bought our first home in Lake Cowichan, BC. It was a great place to get into the housing market at the time, but we knew it wasn’t going to be our final destination. On August 29th our last remaining possessions were moved from our house heading north to the beautiful Comox Valley. Comox BC will be home to Lonetree guitars and be Alleycat guitars for the unseeable future. Our family is super exited for a new beginning in Comox.

Builds slowly being completed in the shop. Just finished up this Mutt baritone ukulele and is off to its new owner. This one was a fantastic uke to play. I normally prefer a spruce top on a baritone but this driftwood cedar top was something else! I collected this cedar many years ago from the beach in Victoria. The sides are cherry and the back is western maple from right here in Lake Cowichan.
With every Mutt sold I donate 10% of the proceeds to animal rescue. This donation of $280 will go to broken promises rescue.

Have you ever wanted a falcate braced guitar but didn’t want to pay the big price for it? This is an Alleycat SJ with rainbow poplar back and side and a beautiful cedar top and this is falcate bracing. The Sitka spruce braces are steam bent, laminated then sandwiched with a strip of carbon fibre. The bridge plate is also a lamination of a very thin piece of wood and 3 alternating pieces of carbon fabric.
Like all of my Alleycat guitars this one will be $3500 plus tax, free shipping across Canada! . This will be the very first and last falcate braced Alleycat guitar as it’s so much more work than traditional bracing. I will use this bracing on my Lonetree guitars again.
This guitar is #99 and is up for grabs.

Well then… starting the next couple of commission builds. Just a sneak peak of what’s going on. A first for me, a double neck acoustic guitar. I love a good challenge. 😊

I would like to introduce Alleycat Guitars, this is a sister brand to Lone Tree Guitars. As Lone Tree Guitars evolves I still want to offer a guitar that is accessible to most players. Alleycat guitars are still all hand made by me on Vancouver island, Canada. Focused on building high quality instruments for Canadian guitar and ukulele players, to keep my prices competitive there are a few trade offs. I am not offering these as custom builds, as they are finished they will go up on my website for sale. I am hoping to have a good stock of instruments available on my site over the next year, I will give updates on my FB page. These are similar to my old standard model. Simple ring rosette and satin open pore finish.

Prices: $3500 for a guitar all body sizes and $3000 for a ukulele all body sizes. prices include FREE shipping Canada wide, plus your province’s taxes. There will be no specific wood combination for these instruments, I will use woods that I have available to me locally to support my local wood supplier. I also do my best to buy my supplies locally to support our local economy. This is a Canadian focused brand building for Canadians. To my US friends down south, not to worry, I am able to ship to the US but with the high tariff the price will have to include that.
For more information you can have a look at my website or contact with any questions.

2026 is creeping up on us and there will be some changes hear at Lone Tree Guitars in the new year. As I shift my Lone Tree Guitar brand into the higher end market there will be a substantial price increase in the new year. My standard and elite model will be dropped but not forgotten…. More on that later 😊. My Lone Tree Guitars will be based around my artist series instruments, focusing on the finer details and the artistry of instrument making, fun tone woods and interesting rosettes.
If you have been wanting a Lone Tree Guitar or ukulele, now is the time. I will honor my currant price and models until the end of the year.
If you have any questions please feel free to message me.
Bring on 2026!
