We’re still carrying the incredible energy, love and support from last night’s audience, and we couldn’t be more excited to do it all again this evening.

Sandy & Cassel are here, hearts full, awaiting the arrival of Rosemary Doyle and getting ready to welcome another audience into the story of Josiah.

One last tech. Then it’s time. 🎭

Last night, Cassel stepped into the TK Studio for final tech ahead of this weekend’s performances of JOSIAH - and tonight, this story comes home.

Kingston is where Josiah was built, shaped and grown. Now, after an extraordinary run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe - returning home with four five-star reviews, awards, accolades, and a renewed sense of urgency to keep telling Josiah Henson’s story - we’re incredibly proud to bring this new one-act version back to the place where it all began.

If you’ve seen Josiah before, you haven’t seen it quite like this.

We’re in the theatre. 🎭

Load-in is underway at the TK Studio Theatre at the Tett Centre, and JOSIAH is getting ready to take the stage in Kingston this weekend.

Cassel, Sandy, Anne Marie Mortensen and Rosemary Doyle have been busy setting the space, focusing lights and getting everything ready for two very special performances.

After an incredible journey this year, we’re so excited to bring JOSIAH back to Kingston and share this story with audiences here at home.

Some words stay with you long after they’re shared. ❤️

When Cassel and Sandy returned home from Edinburgh, one of their first stops was to visit Gretchen Huntley - to thank her personally for the beautiful words of encouragement she shared with us during our journey.

Gretchen’s poem meant so much to Cassel and the entire JOSIAH team, so we wanted to make sure those words had a permanent place. We were honoured to present her with this framed version as a small thank you for the support, kindness and belief she has shown this production.

Thank you again, Gretchen, for being part of this journey. ❤️

And this journey is far from over.

There is so much more to share - more stories, more behind-the-scenes moments, and some very exciting opportunities ahead.

Josiah’s story is only just beginning to be told.

Back home. Back to work. And back to the Thousand Miles of Bricks that gave our production company its name. 🧱

After an incredible summer with JOSIAH, Sandy and Cassel are home, settling back in, getting their hands dirty again — and already looking ahead to what comes next.

And next up is a return to Kingston.

JOSIAH will be on stage at Theatre Kingston September 26 & 27 at 7 PM, presented in partnership with Theatre Kingston, with proceeds supporting live theatre.

Kingston has been an important part of the JOSIAH story from the beginning, and so has Anne Marie Mortensen.

As a lighting, sound and costume designer, stage and site manager, artist-educator, and longtime collaborator with Thousand Miles of Bricks Productions, Anne Marie has helped shape and support this production throughout its journey. We’re incredibly grateful for the time, talent and belief she has brought to JOSIAH and to the work we continue to create.

From a thousand miles of bricks (literally) to stages near and far, there’s still plenty of story ahead.

After an unforgettable run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, JOSIAH returns to Kingston for two special performances only - and this time, every ticket helps support live theatre.

Full circle. ❤️

How it started… is also how it ends. A car packed with bags, a couple of tired faces, and one very memorable adventure behind us.

After an incredible two weeks at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Cassel and Sandy are officially home - a safe flight back across the Atlantic, followed by the drive to Kingston. ✈️🚗

There is so much to unpack from this experience - literally and figuratively. The performances. The people. The conversations. The reviews. The moments we never expected. And a few pieces of very exciting news that we can’t wait to share.

But first… rest.

This week is for catching up on sleep, readjusting to EST, decompressing with the team, and taking a little time to absorb just how special this journey has been.

To everyone who came to see JOSIAH in Edinburgh, recommended the show, shared a post, sent a message, followed along from home or supported this journey in any way - thank you. You helped carry this little show all the way to Scotland, and we are incredibly grateful.

There are plenty more photos, stories and memories from Edinburgh still to come. And trust us… we’re not finished yet. 👀

One performance left. ❤️

Our little show that could has made its way all the way to Edinburgh - and somehow, here we are, heading into our final performance with FOUR ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ reviews behind us.

We are so incredibly proud of what JOSIAH has accomplished here. Proud to have brought Josiah Henson’s story to new audiences. Proud of the conversations this show has started. Proud of the people we’ve met, the rooms we’ve shared, and the memories we know will stay with us for a lifetime.

And this Fringe journey isn’t quite finished yet…

We are incredibly honoured to have been shortlisted for Binge Fringe’s 2026 Black Performer Award, with the ceremony happening tomorrow. 🤎 Stay tuned.

There is SO much more we want to share with you from Edinburgh - photos, stories, moments and reflections - but we think some of that will have to wait until we’re home, rested, and have had a chance to truly take all of this in.

For now, we simply want to say thank you.

To everyone who bought a ticket, sat in an audience, shared a post, sent a message, wrote about the show, cheered us on from home or helped us get here - thank you for believing in this story and in us.
