With devastating fires to the North and now Summerland, it's been a heartbreaking time for so many of our neighbours.

But alongside the devastation, we've also seen an incredible outpouring of support.

We're incredibly proud to be part of this community.

Our thoughts are with everyone affected, and our deepest thanks go to the firefighters, first responders, emergency crews and volunteers working tirelessly to keep our communities safe.

Unfortunately, due to the current air quality, The Penti-Con can no longer participate in the Peachfest Parade this Saturday.

The health and safety of our volunteers has to come first. We're disappointed to miss this year's parade, but we look forward to seeing everyone at future events.

We would like to welcome Aki Vi as a Cosplay Guest this year!

Aki (.cos) is a Seattle-based Masters-level cosplayer specializing in advanced prop fabrication, 3D modeling, and the integration of digital and traditional craft techniques. In December 2025, Aki was selected with their cosplay partner as an International Duo Delegate at Holiday Matsuri, earning the opportunity to represent internationally in Spain at Manga Barcelona 2026. Aki is known for combining CAD modeling, 3D printing, casting, structural engineering, and detailed finishing techniques with textile construction, embroidery, and shoemaking. Aki values clean construction, thoughtful material choices, durability, and craftsmanship that holds up both on stage and in close inspection. As a judge, Aki looks forward to celebrating strong foundations, creative problem-solving, and intentional design decisions, and is excited to see, support, and cheer on their community from the other side of the judging table!

We're so sorry for the short notice!

The Penti-Con is walking in the Bannister Penticton Peach Festival Parade, and we need your help.

If you love our event, we'd welcome your feet joining us as we hand out flyers. It's a great time to show off your costume and have fun while helping promote this year's event.

The parade meetup is at 9:30 AM on Saturday morning.

Thank you to those who took time to give us feedback on the Cosplay Contest rule change. We genuinely value our community and that feedback like this, even when it's difficult to receive, has been heard. Due to the feedback we received, we wanted to address these concerns.

First off, we realize that with 3 months to the event, announcing new Cosplay Contest rules was not ideal. We understand it can take more than 3 months to create a costume, and this change felt like it came out of nowhere. We realize this has felt unfair to those of you who have already started cosplays, and the feeling of disappointment and frustration of suddenly not being able to enter them to the contest. We failed to realize what impact this had on you and for that we are sorry for our oversight.

We understand the decision to not allow OC's or Mashups came as a shock, and we wanted to clarify why this change was made. The expanded rules were written to reflect discussions and decisions that have occurred during judging over the years. There have been instances when judges felt competitors have not met the requirements of the contest (like % made for example) or competitors could not be evaluated on all judging criteria (Accuracy, Techniques or Complexity, Ex*****on, and Cleanliness) and thus were not considered for awards. The Penti-con values transparency, so we made the decision to be up front about what has been going on behind the scenes.

We've heard your feedback regarding this announcement, and considering the close timeframe to the convention, will roll back the rules regarding Original Characters and Mashups to be in line with the 2025 version of the rules so those who have already decided on making characters that fit into these categories can still enter for 2026. Please be aware however that the judges reserve the right to not consider entrants for awards if they feel the requirements have not been met or they cannot judge on all criteria.

Again, anyone who took the time to give us feedback and ask questions about this change, we appreciate the time you took to inform us of how this impacted you.
