Hey friends. Just checking in.

For anyone curious where new episodes have been well... we did take a bit of a break. While both of us are priorizing health for our break 💪, we are also working on a big project. One we hope will be a huge help to any GMs out there like us that want to give their brains a much needed break and follow a process.

If you've liked any of our resources published at HookandChance.com then you're going to love this.

We will absolutely return to making new episodes again. So if you want to be a part of that convo, talk about game or story ideas, come join our Discord. You can find the link on our website. We would be delighted to have you where we are still active during the hiatus.

Can wait to make more episodes but this project was relentlessly nagging at us to get done.

Thanks for your patience and support fam, 🙏 ❤️

The Story Grid by Shawn Coyne is one of those books you hear us reference from time to time. The truth is, some part of it is underneath everything we talk about because it's an incredibly valuable book for any GM, as it that teaches you how most of the best stories are structured.
The danger is you'll start to notice where really satisfying or necessary story beats are missing in other TTRPG campaigns and other med. You'll begin to wonder how certain movies with bazillion dollar budgets even got green-lit with huge gaping holes in their stories.
For us... this is a must read and one of the books that is NEVER on any GM book lists.

Well one of us is gonna have to go change... We need more designs for shirts and hoodies so this stops happening. We look like we're on a team for competitive baldness.

TOMORROW! ARCADIA #20 with content by yours truly and TheGM Tim comes out. Look for it here On Wednesday the 28th! https://shop.mcdmproductions.com/collections/arcadia

We saw a wee little preview and we are beyond excited to see what you all think of The Scribes.

Welcome to ARCADIA! Inspired by old-school tabletop magazines, one day we wondered "Why doesn't anyone make something like that anymore?" So instead of waiting for someone else to do it we made it ourselves and this is that! ARCADIA is MCDM's brand-new digital magazine for 5th Edition GMs and player...

We got a copy of Tales Tavern for our shelves the mail! Thank you so, so much this book is such a triumph. Every next page is an "I wish I'd thought of that". There is something you can just feel in a book everyone put their "A" game into.

We've sat in our recording room ranting about what a good adventure book needs to be and this is everything! All of it. Loveable intriguing NPCs and short adventures that feel personal to them. Details that are perfectly needed and none that aren't.

A huge round of applause to everyone who contributed to this brilliant book. it's the best Anthology book we've ever held. 👏 👏 ❤💯
