Teeny Tiny Treasures

Teeny Tiny Treasures I am a mixed media artist that specializes in miniatures, sculptures and light up art.

I make a variety of things however because I love skulls and mushrooms, I tend to favour making those types of things but don’t be afraid to request something completely different! I do love challenging myself to make new things :) Dm for custom orders :D Wait right now is about 3-4 months on new orders.

Tiny wolf skull biting onto a genuine fire opal sphere with a few mushrooms, some flowers, fungi and a green butterfly. I didn’t make the mushrooms light up on this one, just the inside of the skull.

1” light up tunnels 🙌

Been working on the electronic end of things for quite some time to make these happen in a reliable way. The other pair I had made did not work reliably with the battery pack I tried to repurpose. I had to design and fabricate these battery compartments myself, and that took a lot of trial and error. The on/off switch is on the back and the batteries are held in with a screw on back.

This might be one of the cutest walnut shells I’ve ever made. I sort of want to do this same design with different colour themes. What do you guys think? Should I do a collection of this design in different colours?
The last picture shows the battery compartment and the on off switch is the teal funnel fungi by the battery pack.

You guys have suggested that I make glow in the dark firefly’s. Well, I did you one better. I’ve made an led light up firefly! This pic doesn’t really give you a good idea of the scale unfortunately.

Some still pics of the walnut locket in my last video. The light being turned on outside in the daytime did not do it justice. It really looks so amazing in the dark 🙌.

Hello everyone! My apologies for the lengthy hiatus. It’s been a rough year and I just didn’t have the mental energy for creativity and posting and interacting. I did spend some time on engineering battery compartments that I can use in my walnut dioramas and tunnels. So that’s what I will be focusing on for the next little while. Because I’m still not at 100% I won’t be talking custom orders at this time. It’s just too much of a mental load at the moment. I hope that will change soon though :)
This magical little piece features blue light up mushrooms and herkimer diamonds 💎. The tree fungi above the door is the on/off switch and the door is where the batteries go. It takes 2 ag4/lr66 watch batteries. I’ve picked these batteries as they are very common and can be found at dollar stores.

Ok, so I’ve redesigned them just a little bit. This is a pair of 1”.
The back was a bit too far out and the battery pack just pushed on that first one. I didn’t like that they could potentially just fall off so now the battery pack screws onto the back and you can wear them without the battery pack if you want. The battery pack itself only weights 1 gram so it’s not much extra weight. The whole insert with batteries weight just 5 grams. Which isn’t any more than they would weigh if they weren’t lights. The tunnel itself is where most of the weight is in the bigger sizes. I was also able to add an on/off switch in the back too! Which I think is a cool feature. I’ve done an 8mm prototype/proof of concept and I can fit 2 light up mushrooms inside but I can’t put an on/off switch in it. It would just be on when the battery pack is on. I think the smallest I could put the on off switch is a 14mm. I haven’t experimented with that yet but I will be.

Ok you guys, I’ve FINALlY done it!! Here is the very first ever 16mm light up mushroom tunnel!!!! I’m so excited about it. If the back isn’t too much of a bother, this is something I can replicate in as small as 8mm 😱. What do you guys think? would that battery pack at the back be too much? The whole unit weights just 5.6 Grams with the battery.

Here’s a look at the components of the mini lamp base. I’m not sure if I’ve shown you guys before 🤔. I use these bases for the walnut shell lamps as well. I put a grain of rice in there for scale of the little switch. I’ve messed up those little switches soooooo many times soldering them. they melt pretty easily and it’s really tricky to do. And, you see how there’s 3 little leads? Well you have to use 2 of the 3. My first guess was one of the two close together and the one on the other side. But NOOOOO, it’s the tiny middle one and either one of the 2 on the sides. I wanna know who decided that, because it makes it very difficult.

Was making a pair of 16mm tunnels and accidentally made the mushrooms just a litttle bit too big, so I turned it into a teeny tiny ink cap and skull lamp 😃. I really love how only the eyes and nose light up on the skull 😍

This little unit runs on a cr1220 button battery.

Made some tiny pink coral fungus for the first time! I absolutely love how it turned out 😍. I put a pic of the actual fungi that inspired this design. I’ll post the some pics of it glowing in the dark in comments.
