💙Pauper Reanimation🖤 Hey everyone it’s been a while 😅. I’ve been branching out from strictly playing Commander recently and decided to dip my toes into because LGS is running an event this Saturday. I thought about just grabbing a deck from the meta game but that would not be way 😂.

The deck is pretty straightforward, cycle or discard my Hexproof beaters and then exhume them 🤷‍♂️. Back them up with counters and V***r Snags and apply additional pressure with burn spells. I’ve tested this deck in a single match where I won 2-0 and decided that I would retire from play testing undefeated haha!

🖤Dark Triumph🖤 I only recently found about this cards existence by getting blown out by it 😅 (how else do people find new cards?), what makes it even worse is that I managed to run into 1 of the 105 decks (edhrec) that actually run it 😂.

Dark Triump is a 5 mana instant that pumps our team +2/+0. What makes it really power is that we can cast it for 0 if we control a swamp and sacrifice a creature. Most black inclusive decks run almost always Urborg, plus, you’re very like to… you know play swamps in your black decks. The best place for this card is in a go wide attacking style deck. That of course means having a creature to sacrifice also wont be an issue.

I’m really looking forward to slotting this into a deck and truly believe that this can is criminally underplayed at only 105 decks. What do you think?

☠️Plague Myr☠️ Hey everyone I’m back (hopefully) to my daily posting grind 😅. That of course means I have to post a super sweet promo (and one of my favourite cards) Plague Myr and try to get people back to liking my stuff 😂.

When it comes to mana dorks in Commander if you’re outside of green the best you can do is two CMC, two has pretty much become the gold standard in the format. Yes 9/10 times Mana Rocks are better than Mana Dorks but! How many two mana rocks have the capability of winning you the game hmmm? Plague Myr is a two mana 1/1 that taps for a colourless which is perfectly serviceable but it has the upside of having (everyone’s favourite way to lose) INFECT! Ten hits (or less with buffs) and my two cmc dork takes you out of the game😅. I run it in my Losheel and there are definitely games where it gets there.

😈 Ob Nixilis, the Adversary😈 So I had a hell of a prerelease kit 😅, not only did I pull a Bootleggers’ Stash but my promo was none other than Ob Nixilis. I also managed to go 2-1 without playing either card. I don’t have a lot to say about it because well... I owned it for a couple hours.

When opened it I immediately did what sane Mtg Instagram person would do… I took a picture of it (which I posted a week late) put it into a sleeve and traded it in while it’s value was high 😅.

🏴‍☠️Bootleggers’ Stash🏴‍☠️ Hey everyone I’m back! I won’t lie Streets of New Capenna was not a set that I was hyped about but I still decided to hit a prerelease. I went 2-1 with a super grindy Esper (Obscura?) deck and managed to pull the most expensive card in the set, Bootleggers’ Stash.

I’m making a janky Chevill deck with revel in riches as a win con so obviously this card fits right in there but apart from that it’s probably good just about any other place where you want to make a bunch of mana or artifacts for that matter. It seems like wizards is really pushing treasures these days and that’s a bit concerning for me since they are so powerful. What do you think?

👻Extus, Oriq Overlord👻 Here’s my brand new Extus Spirit Tribal deck. Extus was an incredibly popular Mardu commander when Strixhaven hit but most people built around the back side which… I’m totally ignoring other than the added colour identity.
•
The deck is pretty simple in concept. I wanted to be aggressive with creating spirit tokens and get out a bunch of lords in order to beat my opponents down. What makes this deck interesting to me is just how relentless I can be. With small creatures like Bloodghast that recur themselves, reanimating creatures with well… reanimate and just getting non legendarys back to hand with Extus’ ability whenever I cast or copy an instant or sorcery.

Hofri is my hidden Commander and is likely the card I’m tutoring for first. His ability to make extra tokens and take advantage of cards like Kami of false hope that sacrifices itself can be absolutely back breaking for your opponents. The deck was inspired heavily by Hofri list that still haunts my dreams… get it? 🤣 Let me know what you think!

🦅Aerial Surveyor🦅 It would seem that the theme for my last couple of post is three mana 3/4 vehicles with crew two that… do a thing? This one is definitely better than the last and it might just be best white catch up ramp card they’ve printed in a while.
•
The card itself is better straight forward, crew it, swing in with your 3/4 flyer and if they have more lands than you… you get yourself a basic. This being an attack trigger vs a on damage trigger is a huge upside. Obviously it’s a must play in Vehicle deck but I think you can jam it in almost any non green white inclusive deck and feel pretty good about it 🤷‍♂️.

🚑Imperial Recovery Unit🚑 Today I have a pretty cool uncommon from Neon Dynasty (and I’m not just talking about the art). It’s not gaming breaking in any way but I think this card is perfect for your white we**ie decks.
•
For three mana (two generic and a white) we get a 3/4 Vehicle with crew two. More importantly when it attacks we can return a creature with mana value (formerly cmc) two or less from our graveyard to our hand.
•
3/4 is a reasonable body and will likely get in or survive a block from at least one of your opponents. In Mono white there are 148 legendary creatures, 130 of which have power 2 or greater, which! Means our Commander can crew it (if needed) the majority of the time. I really like this card and I’m running it in my Losheel deck because I have a lot of low cmc creatures that I want back and! Losheel prevents whatever damage would be dealt to this… Unit?

😡Unquenchable Fury😡 Commander Preconstructed decks are often full of powerful and interesting cards and todays card from the Neon Dynasty Upgrades Unleashed is well… one of those cards 😅.

For three mana (red and two generic) we get an aura that says whenever this creature attacks it deals X damage to the defending player where X is the number of cards in their hand. It also has the same text as Rancor where if it’s put into the GY from play we get it back to our hand, meaning, we can keep the pain train rolling!

I really like this card! The fact that it’s an attack trigger means no matter what we’re getting some damage in (provided they have cards in hand). Pair this with Fiery Emancipation and our opponent is taking twenty one damage if they have a full grip! I like this in Valduk and Torband decks or even for those two players running Boros Auras 😂.

✋Access Denied✋ Blue is easily my least played colour when it comes to magic. It’s not that I dislike it, it’s more that I haven’t really come across a Commander that speaks to me in a unique way. The thing that makes magic so great is that with each new set we are given new cards that either create new archetypes or help under supported ones.
•
Access Denied is a five cmc counterspell (three and two blue) that has a really cool effect stapled onto it (which it better have for five mana 😂). When we counter a spell we get to create X 1/1 flying thopter tokens where X is that spells mana value (MV/CMC). What makes Counterspells powerful is the potential tempo swing that it gives you. You can develop your board a bit and hold a few mana up and when an opponent spends a turn playing one big spell and you counter it (presumably for less mana) you’ve basically had them take a turn off. In the case of Access Denied you can (for a bit more mana) counter a spell and develop your board at the same time. Making say… eight thopters from countering a craterhoof gives you eight blockers, or potentially eight evasive bodies with pseudo haste.

Is this card going to change the world? I don’t think so but it’s definitely inspired me to make a Sai, Master Thopterist… Thopter tribal deck and that’s something I don’t know if I would try without it 🤷‍♂️.
