Now, more than ever, I believe in the necessity of “if about us, not without us” - artists shaping cultural identity, policy, and possibility. I also believe in the immense power of cultural diplomacy, which is why to be recognized as an international leader is particularly meaningful to me. This moment reflects not just my work with Letters to the Future, but the many people who believed in me when the path was unclear, when challenges were real, and when courage was required daily. As the project continues to grow and expand, it’s a joy and privilege to celebrate the beauty of human artistry with my collaborators. ✨
I try to lead with conviction but also flexibility, to meet obstacles with creativity, and to trust fundamentally in the power of artists to imagine what doesn’t yet exist. ✨
Because in order to create the future we want, we first have to imagine it.
We have to ask our artists, and the artist within each of us -
what kind of future do we want to live in? ✨
