Based in Bayers Lake and the Hydrostone Market, we source our locally made products from over 200 makers in the Canadian Maritimes. Our Bayers Lake shop has moved a few doors down in the same complex to a much larger location. We are now located just behind McDonalds in Bayers Lake, near Pet Smart and Party City. We currently have opportunities for local potters to join our stores. What are we looking for? In short, potters who create unique work that isn’t like what we already carry. We’re looking for dedicated potters who see our relationship as a mutually beneficial partnership. We will in turn keep you busy with lots of year-round orders + sell, promote and ship your creations all across Canada. We have potters who are wholesale and some are consignment as that works better for them. We also have potters who pull up at our back door with lots of stock a few times a year and others who deliver orders every single month, appreciating the reliable and steady income. We have sold thousands of pots over the last 11 years and have become a go-to shop for pottery in .

Mug Shot Monday! Two days of throwing and around 90 mugs ready to be trimmed. I will then pull handles off each mug rather than extrude a piece of clay and attach. Pulling handles is a time consuming process but one that delivers a more aesthetically pleasing mug at the end of the day. This is a longer post than normal - but worth the read.

This past weekend, we had the pleasure of visiting the Maud Lewis Memorial site in Marshalltown, Nova Scotia, just outside of DIgby.

We speak with tourists and locals daily in our stores about Maud's amazing story and show the range of items adorned by her beautiful work. We are proud to be able to share her story.

However - physically stepping foot on the site, seeing where her house once stood and actually being where she was when she painted her works, brings about a whole different feeling - one that I can't put into words. It's something you need to experience yourself at some point. Drop by the Maud Memorial when you are down Digby way - even for just a few minutes. You'll see what I mean.

Look what just came out of the kiln! Joel has wowed us again with his pottery. These, and other pieces that were part of this firing will be on the shelf in our Bayers Lake store for the weekend. We hope to get a few to our Hydrostone store but it might be a day or two. These guys won't last long!
