I have lived through HELL, I am still battling with the memories haunting every sleeping and waking moment of my life. I like drawing pieces that could make someone happy by looking at it! I am also taking courses to get my Grade 12 Diploma for Adults. Art and School and my Service Dog keep me grounded and in the here and now! I have Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) with Chronic Post Traumatic
Stress Disorder (PTSD) with Social Phobia. I have a Service Dog named Thomas, who helps me by alerting me to triggers, and flashbacks, he wakes me at night so that the night flashbacks don’t make me go to panic mode. He helps in a store when in lineups and alerts me to a person coming up behind me. My goal in life is to bring awareness to Dissociative Identity Disorder and hopefully one day become a psychologist and offer funded treatment for DID. I would like to start a society that would raise funds so those who cannot afford therapy can still receive it. Therapy should not be only for those who can afford it. The Nova Scotia Health department doesn’t offer treatment specifically for adult survivors of childhood abuse, and I would like to have a place to offer it to them privately for free to those who are low income.
