🔦🔺We received a copy of this gorgeous retrospective from Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity of the one and only Cheryl L'Hirondelle (Cheryl L'Hirondelle).

The publication features L'Hirondelle's yahkāskwan mihkiwap (Light Tipi), including an iteration which took place during Nocturne: Microcosm in 2024.

This performative and participatory action event is entitled yahkāskwan mihkiwap (pronounced: yeah-cuss-kwun-me-kih-whop) and is commonly referred to as 'Light Tipi! Light Tipi engages people to come together and create a tipi as a community-engaged activity (while getting a good smudging from the cleansing medicine that sage smoke scientifically is proven to be).

This project was presented in partnership with NSCAD University, with special thanks to Leah Decter, on October 18th, 2024 for the 17th annual Nocturne Art at Night Festival - Microcosm, curated by Shuvanjan - in Kjipuktuk/Halifax.
