🎨 Meet artists Lisa Barry and Matt Mihlik from Studio X

📍Located at 1064 Cameron Lane, Homestead Pottery is a wood-lovers paradise, with a wood-fired kiln to make one-of-a-kind pottery and hand-carved wooden spoons and cutting boards.

Lisa and Matt inherited a piece of land on Lisa’s family Homestead as well as her Grandfathers carpentry shop. Over several years Matt and Lisa renovated the space, built a wood fired kiln and opened their door in the fall of 2005. Currently they are exhibiting in both applied and invitational shows and actively teaching in a variety of venues. With over 2 decades working in the studio, creating fresh new work and surfaces each year, you'll be sure to find a beautiful piece of functional art to add to your collection.

🎨 Meet new artist Kathy Marlene Bailey from Studio W

📍Located at 1179 St Peters Road, visit a new studio this year with Kathy Marlene Bailey, lifelong artist who specializes in glaze oil painting who captures the beauty of the natural landscape.

Kathy's art is a direct expression of the wonder she feels in the natural world and specifically here in Haliburton. Her fascination with the exquisite beauty of nature was forever forged at a young age at her family cottage on Boshkung Lake. Her work is mostly of water. She is a colourist, a realist and she is fascinated by luminosity and the illusion of depth her methods magically allow her to capture. Her work is mostly traditional glaze oil painting but she also does plein air modified glaze oil techniques, gouache, drawings and photography.

You can add Studio W to your Studio Tour plans by visiting our website, dog-earring the printed brochure, or downloading the Toureka! app and 'hearting' Studio W.

🎨 Meet guest artist Allison Barrow from Studio V

📍Hosted by Artech Glassblowing Studios in Tory Hill, Allison Barrow is an impressionist watercolour painter from Goodwood, Ontario, who uses the scenery of farmlands and trails, and the beauty of the Highlands, as the inspiration behind her work.

Allison captures brilliance and bold brush strokes in watercolour. She is an avid plein air painter and her energy speaks to an emotional connection that translates a narrative of calm, sparkle and gratitude through the theme of landscape. Inspiration unfolds as she expresses her love of the Highlands, European scenery and can’t resist a bustling street vignette. Allison’s paintings reflect her vision of life; they evoke extraordinary memories of tradition, celebration and the simple but exquisite joys of life.
