Our quilts stamps celebrate Canada’s rich quilting heritage through two quilts from the Royal Ontario Museum’s permanent collection.

Quilts are stories well told, one stitch at a time. Whether created for warmth or as artistic expression, each one speaks through its materials and craft.

In every quilt, memory is made visible, and history is held close – stitched into form with purpose and pride.

Pick up a set of these quilts stamps today! https://bit.ly/4cPOHpk

Special thanks to the Royal Ontario Museum for their collaboration on this stamp issue.

On Monday September 14th our guild had a monumental evening. Our President Vanessa Allan and vice president Zoey Peters presented 77 quilts and more to Jessica Durka and Marlene Topper from SouthCoast Community Caring for Cancer.

"We have had an extraordinarily bountiful year. As we are stitching threw our 35th year as a guild, we've had an overwhelming amount of fabric donations. Many people in our community, estates from loved ones, retired quilters and more. Add to this our wonderful guild members and their never-ending stash.

The creativity, determination and abundance of fabric has lead us to this moment. We were hoping for 35 to present HOWEVER...... we have a team like no other....

It is our honor and pleasure to assist SouthCoast Community Caring for Cancer with 77 quilts. Suitable for newborn to 100+years. Keep up the wonderful work "

Vanessa Allan and the entire Haldimand Quilters Guild.

It was a spectacular Monday September 14th.

We had our 1st guild meeting of the 2026/2027 year.
The potluck offerings were scrumptious and fulfilling. Salads🥗, casseroles🍲🥘,vegis 🥕🍅🥒and dips. All tasty and varied, just like each member that brought them.

Dessert was a fantastic.... apple🍏🍎 crisp was popular and each version was unique. Who knew it can be served so many ways. The Ice-cream🍨 was yummy.

The night continued with a presentation by our President Vanessa Allan and our vice president Zoey Peters to SouthCoast Caring for Community Cancer. Jessica Durka and Marlene Topper were there to receive 77 quilts, 15 plus bags🎒👜 and colouring books. Pumpkin🎃 buddies and Pumpkin🎃 table runners were also donated. You'll be able to buy these at their booth display at Waterford's Pumpkinfest🎃 next month.

There will be a separate posting showing the magnificent quilts donated.

We also started our house 🏡🏠🏚🏘🛖block exchange for this year.

We had Theresa Walsh a travel consultant from Expedia present a 3 day/2night coach🚌 adventure AQuilters delight.... shopping for fabric and visiting quilt shops here in Ontario. Contact Theresa for further info. Zoey won her beautiful draw prize. Thanks Theresa.

Our eyes were treated to a exquisite display of scrappy quilting. Last year's block exchange were
quilt du-ko ones. A pattern designed by one of our members. The variety was amazing, beautiful treasures for the future.

We concluded our evening with a fabulous show and tell selection including a crocheted triceratops named Petunia.

Hugs and stitches ❤️ 🧵🪡

Monday July 20th was a much cooler day and the air easier to breathe in.

It was a full house at sewday. Fabrics hummed🎶🎵 thru machines and danced under rotary cutters. Some of it even got toasty warm at the ironing board.

So many different projects...hexies, selvedges and bears...lol.
Lunch was spectacular...a wide variety of 🥗salads -- crab🦀, Greek, pasta and even Mrs Brown’s Kitchen ABC salad(apple🍎,beets & corn🌽). It was amazing
Meatballs and a yummy brocoli 🥦chicken casserole too.
Dessert included lemon icebox pie, rhubarb pie and more.

A fabulous creative day of sharing food, fun and friendship. ❤️

Hugs and summer stitches ❤️🧵🪡🌞
