It was a mouthwatering evening on June 1st. We started with our end of year potluck supper.

What a selection.... 14 salads...wow ‼️ bean, coleslaw varieties, seafood and broccoli 🥦. Various potato 🥔 and pasta salads. The favourite was beet salad. Even asparagus spears made a debut along with a stunning vegetable🥕🥦🥒🫑🍅🍇🍓🥦🍄 display ... complete with a striking palm tree.

Hot dishes included scalloped potatoes, meatballs Sheppard pie and mashed potatoes. and more.

Dessert was amazing a multi layered jello delight. Sorry it looks pink, forgot to take a slice pic. Rhubarb was abundant in various forms...🥧pie, 🍪cookies and crisp. Tiny macaroons were tasty temptations.

Our meeting continued with a few new visitors joining us. Sample quiltdu-ko segment were shown. Our Block Lotto... the leymone stars were won by Lynn, wonky log cabin by Theresa.

You'll notice Zuko.... he is a guide dog🐕 in training. We have the honor of assisting in his trading. Such a good boy. Talkative at times...lol.

We finished our evening with a fabulous show and share. Our sewdays continue thru the summer. We meet informally at the park in July & Aug.
Back in September to our regular fulfilled exciting meetings.

Have a safe and quilty 🧵summer

Welcome back to part 2 of our marvelous May meeting.

The trunkshow presented by our member Debbie Sisi Quilt Allan .
It was a highlight of Block of the months from early years of the guild. Workshops taken and ones she has taught. Program pieces that have been presented.
Also some quilts she tested for fellow designers.
Many are her original designs that led to having one published in Quiltmakers 100 blocks issue.
Her lime green, black and white Touch of Vegas quilt earned her 9th place in the McCalls quilting magazine new designer contest. The guild has made two of these, one with red and the other in turquoise... both donated to West Haldimand General Hospital, Hagersville, Ontario for their fundraising.

I hope you enjoy this visual journey.

It was a marvelous and magical May meeting. A magnificent display of colours, styles and creativity.
In fact so huge it's going to be a 2 post event. We had over a 100 photos and.... silly FB will not allow them all in one shot.

So this post is our general fantastic meeting. The next post will be of our speaker's trunk show. She is one of our guild members that took us on a history of BOM's and projects, workshops we've done over many, many years. Stay tuned for Debbie Sisi Quilt Allan trunkshow.

Our President called the meeting to order, then the fun flowed. Our Block Lotto produced 40 stunning examples. Two draws were done, winers being Shirley Kellar and Linda Van Benthem . Our new block for June was presented by Marilyn , a choice Liberated Log Cabin or Lemyone Star. She showed each in a quilt. Special note the Lemoyne Star has NO "Y" seams

Then our eyes finally got to view the stunning results of the mystery workshop Sandra Croley taught. Oh my goodness 😳 😍. A couple were done in reverse colours making it a treat to see side by side. Thanks to Sandra for leading this quilting adventure.

We then had our trunk show....so many treasures to share one post couldn't contain it....lol

Our show and tell was another display of immense creativity. We had many groups of panels and fabric donated and the have become donation quilts. Spectacular. They were also many special quilts for family events. Amazing ladies.

Look for our next post coming.

Hugs and creative stitches ❤️🧵🪡

SUPERB, SPECTACULAR with a dash of SILLY SNOWFLAKES ❄️ outside....lol.

An amazing turnout, a dozen SINGING 🎶🎵 SEWING machines creating delightful projects, finishing bindings and SEW🪡🧵 much more.

Consultations🤔🤔, cutting✂️✂️✂️ and coordinating 🔴🟧🟡🟩🔵🟪🟤⬛🔷️🔶️🔻colours filled the room as well. Laughter and giggles emerged too.

Lunch was a SMORGASBORD of aromas tantalizing your SENSES. An array of SALADS 🥗 and casseroles🥣🍲🥘 and dips decorated our plates.🍽

Then it was the best 🏆time dessert...... wow ‼️

Cakes🎂🍰🧁, pies🥧, cookies 🍪and SQUARES. Oh SO SWEET.....and oh SO yummy.

Lots of finishes, beautiful personal quilts and future donation ones.

On Monday April 6th is was a magical night of milestones, celebrations and fun.

We reached 1 million inches ‼️‼️

Incredible ...you may ask.. 1 million inches of WHAT ❓️ BINDING INCHES.....

Our Walk Around Haldimand coordinator Kathy Hird explains

"We started recording Sept.9, 2013.

The original challenge was the year before when they travelled from Newfoundland to ‘Mile 0’ sign in Victoria, BC. Next year they wanted to start in Victoria and go to Brock for Quilt Canada 2014. They made a detour to visit Inuvik, NT. Our first entry was 1120.

In September 2014, we were calling it Walk Around Haldimand."

In celebration of thus milestone Nadine Howard was the one that reached it for us in her months count contribution. Kathy presented her with a beautiful plant. Congratulations 🎊

Then our President Vanessa and Vice President Zoey presented 35th anniversary mini charm packs to start our 35 Anniversay year off.

Our Block Lotto was drawn , Chris winning a gorgeous selection of blocks. Our next Lotto Block was presented Scrappy Buckeye Beauty. We look forward to seeing another colourful selection.

Next was our highlight of the evening Stephanie VanDyk from Inlign Osteopathy. She demonstrated how treatments are done. She gave us a fabulous handout...
The Quilters Reset. Excellent info for those long sewing🧵 stretches we tend to do.

Another parade of fantastic quilts and projects were shared crocheted temperature snakes 🐍 to a wreath made with scrap from everyone. Beautiful. Lots more chandelier quilts too.

Hugs and happy spring stitches ❤️🧵🪡
