For emerging artists, getting a chance to perform in front of a real audience can be a turning point. Northern Lights Festival Boréal has been creating those opportunities for more than five decades.

NLFB provides a welcoming, community-focused environment where new and emerging musicians can perform, connect with audiences, meet other artists, build confidence and gain valuable festival experience.

For many artists, the opportunity to share a stage at NLFB can be an important step toward building a career.

And it isn't just about the artists.

When you support NLFB, you're supporting the future of music in Northern Ontario. You're helping ensure that local and emerging artists have places to perform, audiences to discover them, and opportunities to grow.

You're also supporting the volunteers, local businesses, technicians, vendors and countless community members who come together to make the festival happen.

Right now, NLFB needs our community.

If you can give, please do.

Last night, Paul Dunn took to the Lounge stage as the first of several weeks of fundraisers kicked off.

Thank you Paul for playing last night and thank you to everyone who came out to support. Thank you to THE LOUNGE for hosting these fundraisers!

Next Wednesday is Tommy Fyfe!

To everyone who has already donated, shared our posts, reached out, or asked how they can help—thank you. Truly.

At a time when we are facing an incredibly difficult and uncertain future, every single act of support has meant more than we can put into words.

We have felt the love for Northern Lights Festival Boréal. We have heard from people who grew up with this festival, artists who found their voice here, volunteers who have dedicated years of their lives to it, and festival-goers who simply cannot imagine Sudbury without NLFB.

But we aren't there yet.

We still need our community to come forward.

We are working toward raising $65,000 to keep NLFB alive, and we need more people to donate, more businesses to step up, and more members of our community to help spread the word. Losing a critical grant and lower than expected ticket sales, have put us in a difficult position.

Even if you can only give $20, $50 or $100, it matters. Every donation brings us one step closer to being able to continue.

If you have already donated, please consider sharing this again. If you haven't donated yet, please consider doing so now.

We don't take this moment lightly. We know everyone has their own challenges, and we are incredibly grateful to those who have chosen to stand beside us.

But the hard truth is that we still need help.

For more than 50 years, this festival has belonged to Sudbury.

We hope it can continue to belong to Sudbury for generations to come.

Please come out. Please donate. Please help us keep the lights on.

We aren't ready to say goodbye.

We are so grateful to our friends at The Lounge on Elgin Street for putting together a fundraising series, featuring local NLFB alum who are donating their time to support the festival.

The shows run every Wednesday starting at 8 pm with admission by donation for the festival.

Come on out and support the festival by supporting these incredible artists.

We are so grateful to The Lounge and to all the artists who donated their time.

See you Wednesday!

For more than 50 years, Northern Lights Festival Boréal has been part of the heart and soul of Sudbury.
It’s where we’ve discovered new artists.

Where families have danced together.

Where friends have made memories.

Where Canadian musicians have found an audience.

Where our community comes together to celebrate music, creativity, and one another.

But right now, the future of NLFB is at risk.

After more than five decades of bringing music and people together, we are facing a financial crisis that threatens the festival’s future.

At this point, there will not be a 2027 festival.

Unless our community comes together to help change that.
We believe NLFB is worth saving. Not just because of the music, but because of what it means to our community.
It supports artists and local businesses. It creates opportunities for emerging talent. It brings people together. It attracts visitors to Sudbury. And it gives our city something that simply cannot be replaced.

But we need you.

If Northern Lights Festival Boréal has ever meant something to you, please consider making a donation today.

$25. $50. $100. $500. Every contribution matters. Every share matters. Every conversation with a potential sponsor matters.

Maybe your first festival was 40 years ago. Maybe you discovered your favourite band at NLFB. Maybe you brought your children and watched them fall in love with live music. Or maybe you’re one of the thousands of people who simply believe that Sudbury deserves a vibrant arts and culture community.

This is our festival. And right now, it needs our community.
Please help us keep the lights on, the music playing, and the Northern Lights shining.
Donate. Share. Speak up. Help us save NLFB.

Together, we can keep the tradition alive for another 50 years.
