It has been snowing almost every day at the Polar Star Inn and the Seipel Hut and the conditions are amazing and getting better!

We have had spaces open up in the Polar Star Inn for Jan 30th, 31st and Feb 1st and the Seipel Hut is also open and available on Jan 30th, 31st and Feb 1st.

The huts have limited availability during the winter months so this is your chance to get a winter hut trip in if you don't have any dates booked yet for the 2025 winter season.

We love when badass parents bring their badass kids up to the huts! Always a pleasure to meet such incredible people that appreciate being in the backcountry during the winter as much as we do.

And just like that the 2023/24 10th Mountain Division winter hut season has started with incredible early-season conditions! At the Polar Star Inn, we are back to single-bed bookings (sleeps 19) like before covid so you are not required to book the whole hut anymore. And don't forget the Polar Star Inn & Seipel Hut share an incredible Sauna located conveniently between both huts for your pleasure so book your nights before someone else does at www.huts.org

A number of years ago, we went on a hut trip with John Seipel, to revisit the many huts he built in the 10th Mountain hut system. The documentary of that trip, and the story of the huts, has since been shown exclusively at various outdoor film festivals, including winning Best Environmental Film at the Front Range Film Festival.
