Since I’m not working on anything new right now, I thought it was a good time to share this fun drawing I did for my nephew a while back. He requested a sloth riding a giraffe so I had to break my rule of using my own reference photos this time. 😆 He said it was “…actually really good.” I think that means it was a success!

Feels good to create something new after having some unexpected time away from the tools. ✍🏻
If you’re a birder, you’ll recognize this one right away as a wing feather from a Northern Flicker. Their colourful feathers are best seen in flight, which they use as a source of communication with one another. The brightness of their feathers serves as a signal of health, as the colour comes from what they eat, so the brighter the better. I’d love to know what you think of this one!
